In his second post-office visit in Chicago, former President Joe Biden stopped to accept an award from the National Bar Association, blasting President Donald Trump without ever saying his name to the crowd at the Hyatt Regency in the Loop Thursday evening.
“Judges matter, courts matter, the law matters, and the constitution matters,” Biden said. “I think a lot of Americans are starting to realize that under this president. … Get ready folks, he’s just starting.”
Biden Thursday decried the abduction of immigrants from their families and communities while highlighting attacks on civil rights and voter access.
“There are moments so stark that they divide all that came before and everything that follows,” Biden said. “We are at such a moment in American history, reflected in every cruel executive outreach, every rollback of freedoms.”

Son Mauro Maccioni, a manager, (who was not reachable by phone) told Eater that a restaurant employee named Carlo Mantica, not his father, was responsible for the controversial response: “It was a mistake to engage, and Mr. Mantica’s views are his own and not those of the company,” Mauro said.

The article probably did not mention that the master of ceremonies had to call for Biden’s entrance three times before he came in with a granddaughter on each side of him. He looked totally lost. …. And very frail.
I have always thought that he suffers from vascular dementia in which parts of the brain still work while other parts do not. Biden could not even read a number correctly during the 2020 campaign. He does not know where he is. He can still read a Teleprompter with vigor.
Those who thought he had Alzheimer’s in 2020 might not have been familiar with vascular dementia. With Alzheimer’s, a person’s brain goes down more steadily in all parts. Dementia caused by strokes preserve parts of the brain while other parts are destroyed. After each vascular event, some of the lost function might return though seldom to the pre-event level. I watched a formerly brilliant loved one lose mental and physical function from vascular dementia during his last years on earth. It is very sad.
