WASHINGTON — Former CIA Director John Brennan ignored warnings from “veteran” officers and ordered the publication of a “substandard” intelligence report that claimed Russian President Vladimir Putin “aspired” to help Donald Trump win the 2016 election, according to a bombshell congressional report released Wednesday.
The House Intelligence Committee had compiled the “egregious” errors by the CIA back in 2020 — errors that included burying intelligence that the Kremlin was preparing for a possible victory by Democrat Hillary Clinton, according to Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
The committee’s findings also show that “fabricated” information from the since-debunked Steele dossier — funded by Clinton’s campaign and put together by an ex-MI6 spy — was crammed into the CIA product over the objections of senior officials.
“Not only did CIA Director Brennan, FBI Director [James] Comey, DNI [James] Clapper and others include the Steele Dossier in the 2017 ICA, they overruled senior Intel officials who warned them it was fabricated and should not be used,” Gabbard said, calling the move “the most egregious weaponization and politicization of intelligence in American history.”
“In doing so, they conspired to subvert the will of the American people, working with their partners in the media to promote the lie, in order to undermine the legitimacy of President Trump, essentially enacting a years-long coup against him,” she added.
“The Russia Hoax was a lie that was knowingly created by the Obama Administration to undermine the legitimacy and power of the duly elected President of the United States, Donald Trump.”

One has to ask - when fabricating a lie to smear Trump, why use “Russia” as the pretext?
They could have created any story - business orruption with China, India or Iran, Chinese election meddling, pedophilia, rape (which they tried later), fraudulent international banking documents (the UK/MI6 would have happily helped with that), etc...
Yet, Russia was chosen as the hinge for this fairy tale. Why?

Unfortunately for her, the Democrat defense of Bill Clinton’s actual depravities desensitized the nation to future allegations of depravity.
Makes me wonder how many other career ending “scandals” involving Republicans were equally bogus.
John Brennan served as the Director of the CIA from March 2013 to January 2017, and he was previously the Chief Counterterrorism Advisor to President George W. Bush. His career with the CIA included significant roles during Bush’s presidency, where he played a crucial role in counterterrorism efforts.
Then let's prove it with a prosecution and penalties. Otherwise it just seems like another group of politicians and government officials doing corrupt stuff, like so many. Without some beef/investigations and prosecutions and convictions, it's more noise.
Whoever put together the Substandard Report at the CIA must be fired.

My theory: (1) The Left is still mad that Russia ditched outright communism; (2) They perceived that Russia was still viewed negatively by many people as the Soviet Union; (3) Russia had been embarrassing the Obama administration; (4) People in Trump’s orbit were more likely to have contact with Russia than with China or other hostile nations; (5) The Democrats were thick with China and wouldn’t harm their partner.
