Trump embraces special prosecutor for weaponization probe and Epstein, vows new declassifications

President Donald Trump on Wednesday embraced the FBI’s decision to open a conspiracy probe into a decade of alleged intelligence abuses and weaponized law enforcement, suggesting it could be led by a special prosecutor and even delve into “credible evidence” in the Jeffrey Epstein case in order to give Americans a greater dose of transparency and accountability.

He also vowed to declassify two highly sensitive pieces of intelligence to help further the prosecutor's efforts.

“Well, I'm happy that they did that,” Trump said during a wide-ranging interview with the Just the News, No Noise television show when asked about the FBI’s decision a few weeks ago to open a probe that examines abuses from 2016 to 2024 by Democrats and government officials as a continuing criminal conspiracy. “I don't know much about it, but it deserves to be done.”

“It was a disgrace what happened, what happened in 2016 and what happened in 2020. It's a disgraceful situation," he said. "And our voting has to be straightened out. I always say if you don't have borders, if you don't have fair and free voting, you don't have a country.”

Unprompted, Trump then volunteered on his own that a special prosecutor – if one is appointed by Justice – to look at weaponization could also delve into "anything credible" on Jeffrey Epstein and his files to make sure Americans have a full accounting.

“I think they could look at all of it. It's all the same scam. They could look at this Jeffrey Epstein hoax also, because that's the same stuff that's all put out by Democrats,” Trump said, when asked what he’d most like to see the FBI investigate.

When pressed whether he was comfortable with a special prosecutor on weaponization also looking at Epstein, he answered, “They've already looked...

What I have is a mess.

The administration created this mess.

I did not.

Yes, there is evidence of it. You can choose to believe it is not credible such as the evidence about Randy Andy but there is evidence.

I dont find it farfetched that Randy Andy would use a puppet.

Think about it.

I think he is seeing private polling that has put him in a meltdown.

I didn’t believed it first, read it on GP which I think is trustworthy. I support POTUS but I did feel offended and betrayed.
I checked it on President Trumps Truth Social account.
POTUS posted it himself, no distortion.

True. Nothing will ever be enough. Especially around here. I believe the sudden change in attitude about the Epstein case was due to the magnitude the existing evidence had already been tampered with before Trump took office, and they just discovered it since Bondi has reviewed it. But, of course, I don’t know. and apparently neither does anyone else...

This was from insiders. When asked about the report Acosta said something like it was not entirely accurate.

Mike Benz is calling for info to be released from the OPR investigation.

Might mysterious that incoming emails got disappeared that would have covered the Epstein prosecution.

Seems a bit deranged doesn’t it?

Garland sat on the evidence for the last four years. Now much of a con was that?

VOTE FOR PAT PAULSON!

I think that is a part of it. Whoever advised this tactic ..susan wiles????...made a huge mistake.

Congress is also seeing polling and jumping on board that there needs to be an investigation. Massie on board because of Trump skewering him.

I suspect (but cannot prove) that the key activist MAGA demographic (men age 35 and younger) are more likely to believe in reptilian aliens and flat earth than anything the administration has said on the Epstein matter.

This is becoming a joke with that demographic.

It is better that they hate you than laugh at you.

Release the Epstein files. All of them. For those of us with nothing to fear, the truth can’t come soon enough.

I hate to make this about me — but the media already has.

How could they settle the question of whether Epstein was an intel asset or not? Everyone’s mind is already made up what they are going to believe or not.

omg.

This entire matter is in danger of being a farce.

Once people start laughing at you they will ignore everything you say or even do.

That is exactly what happened to Kamala.

Thanks. That is the old "reportedly said."

... the U.S. attorney who arranged Epstein’s 2007 plea deal, reportedly said that he was once told to back off the pedophile’s case because Epstein “belonged to intelligence.”

But I can't find anyone who actually heard him say that.

“How could they settle the question of whether Epstein was an intel asset or not?”

How do difficult civil litigation matters get resolved—when both sides have reasonable narratives to tell?

Lots and lots of evidence is provided on both sides—and everybody slogs through it as best they can.

The perfect is the enemy of the good.

It’s pretty crazy. You’ve got that right. It reminds me of bin Laden and how they had to bury him at sea really quickly. That made a lot of sense didn’t it? OK, maybe not.
