FAITH OR FEAR?
For whatever does not originate and proceed from faith is sin [whatever is done without a conviction of its approval by God is sinful]. — Romans 14:23
Is it possible to allow someone to control and manipulate us, honestly saying we are doing so in faith? Of course not! We know this type of behavior is rooted in fear, not faith. Faith obeys God, but fear is easily intimidated and finds many excuses for disobedience. A person who is a perfectionist, a workaholic, or involved in sexual perversion is just as dependent as someone who is addicted to a chemical substance like tobacco, alcohol, or drugs. If we try to meet the needs of that person at the expense of our own needs, we are co-dependent upon that individual. It is good to help people who have been hurt; but when their emotional needs begin to control us, we are in danger of being led by them and their problems instead of being led by the Holy Spirit of God. Faith causes us to step out and say or do what God places in our hearts, but fear causes us to timidly stay under control and domination. How many times have we heard manipulative people say things like, "I'm old, and you don't care anything about me now," or "I raised you all of your life. I sacrificed to house and clothe you and put you through school, and now you want to just leave me here all alone"? There is a balance to be maintained in such situations. That balance is the Holy Spirit within us to guide us into the truth of each situation. He will provide us the wisdom to know when we are to be adaptable and adjustable and when we are to take a firm stand and be immovable. Always keep in mind that faith obeys God, fear is easily moved by unbridled emotion! From the book New Day, New You: 365 Devotions for Enjoying Everyday Life by Joyce Meyer. That’s what I figured. It looked gloomy over there all day.
Nice of the sun to shine over the airports at least. There was a wedding this afternoon close to the live cam at Lake Hood. Must have been someone who works for Rust’s Flying Service since it was in their parking lot, at the edge of the lake. It was at 4:30 and there are STILL people out their partying. Havin’ a large time. LOL

I’ve charged up the battery so I can go six miles to the mechanic, but I can’t find ANYONE who will follow me there and drive me home.
It’s only six miles.
I’m not askin’ for much.
This is affecting me personally, because I’m ALWAYS there for everyone else when they need help.

Hey there, radu!
Yes, it was raining nice and steady when we went out yesterday morning. Hubby said he poured out 1/4” from the gauge. It was also VERY humid [100% !!] and cool. Sort of like what you’ve been describing lately.
Did you get more rain, or did it dry out enough for you and Champ to have a mowing day?

Glad you got some more rain yesterday. Your lawn must be looking pretty nice these days.
Again, yes, it rained yesterday and no, I didn’t mow. Same today. It was pouring when I woke up and there’s a lot more to the west heading this way. *sigh*

Comments below the video:
“You should do a video on LT Edwin Ramsey. He was a US cavalry officer in WW2 who led the last cavalry charge in US history, formed an army of 40,000 Filipino Guerrillas against the Japanese and would play a key role in the liberation of the Philippines, and he was one of the founding fathers of US special forces. Also his story is just hilarious and awesome. Everyone thought that he and his scouts were dead for years. Then, not only did the LT not get lost and die in the jungle, he came back with a huge army that he basically built from scratch himself.”
