Trump administration weighs new coal sales from public lands in Montana and Wyoming

Federal officials on Monday took a first step toward reopening vast areas of public lands in two Western states to new coal sales as part of President Donald Trump’s push to expand U.S. fossil fuel production.

The Interior Department proposal comes after the Biden administration, citing climate change, tried to end sales of the fuel from the nation’s most productive coal fields — the Powder River Basin in northeastern Wyoming and southeastern Montana.

The Trump administration is instead considering selling leases for coal mining on more than 2,600 square miles (6,800 kilometers) of federal lands in that region, according to documents released by officials. That’s an area larger than Delaware.

The unfolding course reversal on using public lands to boost the struggling U.S. coal industry stems from an executive order signed by Trump on his first day in office. It’s part of Trump’s broad push to increase oil, gas and coal extraction from publicly owned lands and waters in the U.S., even as Republicans pull back support for renewable energy projects. …

If Greta starts to gripe about the US....

“China currently has 243 GW of new coal power plants under construction, or permitted for construction. When plants currently announced or in the preparation stage but not yet permitted are included, this number rises to 392 GW of capacity at 306 different coal power plants.”

...We are driving a dagger through the heart of climate-change religion and ushering in America’s Golden Age,’' EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin said in an essay in The Wall Street Journal.

Cons never give up the con. In my quest to find this quote Google actually wagged its finger at me and pushed the usual narrative.

H. L. Mencken figured out this kind of political lying all the way back in 1918:

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary.”

The climate change crap has nothing to do with climate change. It is about bringing about a New World Order of economic “equality”.

Call it “solar coal” and mine it.

Who will have the balls to build new coal burning plants to generate electricity? To utilize this coal? Knowing the DemonRats will make it their mission to shut it down.

The real laugh is that Germany is burning more coal than ever. To replace the electricity that it lost when it shut down it last nuclear power plants. Take that Greta!

Agreed. And sometimes the Dims punish you for doing what they forced you to do. Here in Alabama, Obama’s EPA forced the power company to shut down a coal plant and replace it with power produced by “clean burning natural gas”. Then a few years later Brandon signed multiple executive orders to make it hard to drill for natural gas. It costs us money every time the Dims change their minds on what’s supposedly good or bad for the environment.

All while I’m trying to financially plan a full retirement. Which is why I explored decentralized solar and replacing one of our cars with an EV. It works well for me, but I advise anyone to do lots of homework on it before doing what I did. It depends on your climate and your home energy consumption habits and your driving habits. But if those variables are in your favor, you’ll find that the word “decentralized” in front of solar makes it very cost effective. Or another way to put it: the physical science of hydrocarbons is superior to the physical science of solar, but any energy you can decentralize removes the stupid political science from your budget.

“The climate change crap has nothing to do with climate change. It is about bringing about a New World Order of economic “equality”.”

Democrats did this to themselves decades ago. And they were originally correct. It was all about pollution, but that didn’t resonate with the American people. So they tried global cooling and that didn’t work so they tried global warming, which also didn’t work. So now it is climate change and once again it isn’t resonating with the majority of the American citizenry.

In my opinion, Trump should take it back to pollution and start going after the Democrat narrative by talking about killing birds, killing fish, destroying land to put up solar farms.

SOME greens actually have brains and use them.
At least a few solar fields are elevated with low growing crops below.

APPROPRIATE use of technology is the correct answer.
