An Iowa law removing gender identity as a protected class from the state’s civil rights code took effect Tuesday, the first action of its kind in the United States.
The new rollback of protections is the latest attack on trans people in the US and part of a broader movement across conservative-led states working to restrict LGBTQ rights.

It helps to understand what they mean by “protections.” It’s not what normal people think.

Rolling back a nonsense law is not an attack. I am shocked Iowa passed such a nutty law in the first place.

I am shocked Iowa passed such a nutty law in the first place. And that was 18 years ago!

A man in Iowa burned an LGBT 🏳️🌈 flag and got 17 years in prison. The Republican Governor has not commuted his sentence, while American 🇺🇸 flags are burnt every day.

Aime Wichtendahl is an American politician who was the first transgender woman to be elected to public office in Iowa. In 2024, Wichtendahl became the first transgender person elected to the Iowa General Assembly, representing House District 80 in the Cedar Rapids area.[1] She was first elected to Hiawatha's City Council in 2015,[2] a seat to which she was re-elected twice in 2019 and 2023. [3] She is a member of the Democratic Party.

What about special civil rights protections for people who think they’re God? Or ‘ruler of the Universe’??

Just why should people who are seriously mentally disturbed get extra “protection”? Iowa is full of LIB nitwits who can’t describe what a woman is.
These mentally ill trannies need treatment, if nothing else. They are delusional, often violent and tend toward suicide. Society needs “protection” from them...especially when they sexually assaulting and “recruiting” innocent children.
Iowans...you embarrass your selves.

"Iowa’s new law also attempts to redefine gender as a synonym for biological sex, a shift that disregards contemporary medical and psychological understandings gaslighting propaganda and delusional groupthink misunderstandings of medicine, psychology, and biology.

The only “protections” they should be treated to are the same we should give ANY potentially dangerous mentally ill people- placed in a secure insane asylum, until they harm a child then, the only future they should face is the death penalty.
These people cannot be rehab’d.

The new rollback of protections is the latest attack on trans people in the US No, laws that allow the genital mutilation of children and pretending that homosexuality is normal are attacks on normal people.

I still don’t understand how we can have equal protection of the law AND protected classes at the same time.
