A 'devastating and deadly' flood in central Texas swept a suspected summer camp cabin down the Guadalupe River while people were still inside.
Terrified occupants yelled out 'oh my god' and screamed in horror as the property was floating down the rushing river somewhere between the towns of Kerrville and Comfort.
The Guadalupe River rapidly rose by more than 22 feet overnight, broke its banks and overtook several small, rural towns across Kerr County.
At least six people are dead and there's a frenzied search for those missing as torrential rains bombard the region.
The raging floods have swept away homes, entire RV parks and cars across the region, which was pummeled with one-third of a year's worth of rain over the course of just a few short hours.
Search teams are continuing to conduct boat rescues as fast-moving water threatens riverfront communities and children's summer camps.

There is no flood quite like a Texas Hill Country flood.
Fueled by sudden, intense downpours over rocky terrain that sheds water like concrete, rivers and creeks in this region can surge with astonishing speed.
In mere minutes, a gentle stream can transform into a violent torrent, rising a dozen feet or more and forming a wall of water capable of sweeping away cars, homes, and lives.
The combination of topography, soil composition, and weather patterns makes flash flooding in the Hill Country both uniquely dangerous and notoriously unpredictable.
Please pray right now for everyone in the Hill Country, especially Camp Mystic.
Today, I’ve spoken with Gov Abbott, Lt. Gov Patrick, the head of TDEM & President Trump.
Multiple helicopters are performing search & rescue. President Trump committed ANYTHING Texas needs. 🙏🙏

Just heard 20 kids are missing from that summer camp. Good God, just terrible
They know the risk, yet they keep building there
Unsurprisingly, the first and only comment posted after an article I read on the flooding and fatalities was from a lefty blaming Texas and other “regressive states” for not being complete eco nuts. Last time I checked, loony blue states and cities had their share of natural disasters, too.
I’m so sorry for the victims and their communities. Hope rescue and recovery efforts are able to continue smoothly. We’ve had a ton of rain here, but nothing like these neighbors to our east and west have gotten.
3:30 PM: According to Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, approximately 23 children are still unaccounted for at Camp Mystic in Hunt, Texas. Hundreds of rescuers are actively searching both on the ground and in the air.
RIP to those lost.
Don’t build in flood plains!
JUST IN: At least thirteen people have died after heavy rain pounded Kerr County, Texas, early Friday, leading to deadly and “catastrophic” flooding, the sheriff said.
And when camping by the river, keep an eye on those weather reports.
horrendous comments on Agenda free news on Looker’s pod cast. Cheap shots at both Governor Abbot and of course President Trump. One person said Texas is a red state. God is trying to tell them something.
Endless grotesque comments on a popular YouTube feed. Just unbelievable!
Despicable...
I got a buddy in Kerrevile.
Terrible.
Looknerd chat is a sewer.
prayers up!
Praying!
It’s egregiously irresponsible to build camp cabins on a flash flood plain. Property owners who did it need to be sued into the poorhouse, the land sold, and proceeds given to the families of the deceased.
What a travesty!
I wonder what God thinks of their evil comments?
