Thanks, Dolly.
Yes, we have naturopaths and osteopaths and chiropractors. Natalie keeps in close touch with a couple of them. She thinks I should take the thyroid so I am going to give it a whirl.
Just made a big pot of potato soup. I blended until smooth the leftover carrots, potatoes, onions and brussel sprouts I made yesterday, added extra potatoes, dill, chopped spinach, salt and pepper. It’s nice and think and quite tasty.
Your soup sounds great. I love to throw in whatever leftovers also in soups. Potato is one of my fav.. Do you do soups on stovetop or crockpot?
Good you are comfortable with the thyroid med and i hope you get satisfactory response
How is Natalie doing? Hoping no relapse
Carney seems focused on annoying decent citizens
Love this..my label - anti - ICE athletes
Have you been able to navigate down your driveway yet? It was challenging in good weather let alone iced
We got out for first time today in 2 weeks. Jeff’s been working on the drive ice from day one. Rough on back and we missed past two weeks at Chiropractor so he really is in need! Seeing him Monday
Our climes are similar you in mountains and we the foothills. About same latitude. What’s your elevation? Ours sbout 1200
My space heater and microwave arrived the past couple days. The space heater is the best I’ve ever experienced . Still need to read manual and figure out the bells and whistles on MW
Panther got out today. I sat on chair on back deck. She watched birds, climbed up n down huge oak tree next to deck and romped on roof. Ive learned she wont come to me n i let her play and snatch her when possible.
Birds! So many. We refil feeder couple times a day
Hi spunky, glad you are checking in. And it’s wonderful. Your son is doing better!
If you don’t mind by asking, what dose of gabapentin was he taking? I’ve been given some for nerve pain, following the surgery. As if the surgery wasn’t bad enough, now I have lingering issues. Not much helps with nerve pain, but apparently gabapentin does. One plus is that it is very cheap.
Thanks for the video, I will check it out tomorrow.
Oh, it’s gorgeous, is that a lynx?
I can’t believe it snowed again last night! Even though it was barely above freezing at least it melted on the asphalt. Wow two weeks inside, that would be awful. I’m glad you’re free now, doesn’t it feel like being in prison? I think I only had three days trapped, the tractor scraped up the snow on the asphalt and the sun did the rest.
Oh no, please don’t let panther out! Not with all those killer dogs next-door. Once they go out, they’ll stay out and they have no idea of the risks.
Glad you have a good working space heater now, hopefully it makes a big difference
Forgot to mention birds are all around our little feeder also. They’re having a hard time finding food elsewhere. I read that you was up a lot of calories just staying warm at night, that they shiver to stay warm and it uses a lot.
I have some rice papers and I have some Napa cabbage and bean sprouts. I want to make some of those roll things, I don’t know what they’re called when you use rice papers. Any ideas?
I too have residual neuropathy neuralgia from previous medical issue. Had shingles 10 years ago. Very severe pain constantly with occasional sharp knife like stabs for fun. I take Amitriptyline 25M once a day at night to reduce. Its one of few meds i still take.
Some might recall family friend and Freeper Wheelbarrow who also had this- years before me. He suffered this condition 24 years before his death
No we don’t let Panther out on purpose. She’s swift. Went out this AM when Jeff opened door. Of course it was my fault even though i was in another room.
Mom & son frustrating issues ever present
I always try to remember my first job is to reconnect him to Jesus. Not easy and certainly not enhanced by being Bitchy Mom
Guess what Ms Healthy had for dinner? Lays potato chips and French onion dip!
Son had Digiorno pizza
Cooks day off😊
Cold tonight and letting faucets run thin stream hoping pipes don’t freeze
I made up a lot of valentine day jewelry for a party that didn’t materialize due to storm two weekends ago. Jewelry party(think Tupperware). Wine and cheese etc.
I made enough for party and gifts
Was able to give out some of the gifts today. I don’t as a rule give to friends, especially affluent friends. Although at Christmas gave to all in our ladies GOP group
what I did today is give to the workers at my grocery store — in the deli department Produce bakery so far
I did the same thing at Christmas.
The last of mt gifts from BF Jim arrived today. Amazon has done a remarkable job snd I KNOW losing $$ following the winter blast
Is amitriptyline another one that works for nerve pain? The GP I went to said either Lyrica or gabapentin. I’ll ask her about amitriptyline next time.
Oh good, I’m glad she doesn’t get to go out anytime she wants. Yes they are fast, Cadbury got out the other day and I didn’t even realize he did. He has a tracker on, so at least I’ll know where he is if he doesn’t come home one day.
Your fault, even though you were in the other room, sounds like me and hubby. It’s amazing the powers I have to do everything wrong.
Your dinner sounds yummy, now I want some. Although I can’t have potatoes or sour cream so....
Another cold night here also of course, but next week looks a lot better! Let’s hope we are done with these crazy storms.
I’m sure the workers appreciated your jewelry. And how sweet of your boyfriend to send you all those goodies. What did you get today?
I had a friend come over to test the kittens. They’re pretty friendly with us, but I wanted to see how they react to a stranger. They loved her, purred and let her pet them. I hope that means they are still friendly when they put them in a cage at the shelter and they can get homes. Then we took Cooper for a little walk, but it was snowy and I didn’t want his feet to get too cold, so I carried him most of the way.
I am finally out of the hospital. It took all day to receive two units of blood. I’m sure I’ll feel better tomorrow. Good night.
Hi all, I just got back from the store getting a varity of cheeses, Chinese Pork, cole slaw, macaroni, cucumbers, radishes, crackers, etc to make me up a tray of munchies while I sit here all by my lonesome watching my Seahawks beat the LA Rams in the Super Bowl. I hope :-)
Cotton and all, my son has severe back issues. One of the surgeries he had was to remove a cyst off of his spinal cord. Ever since then he has had pain he can’t seem to tolerate.
So because of the back pain they put him on Hydrocodone. Just like ALL pain relievers you start building up a tolerance to them. He became addicted and wanted more and more. After realizing this he wanted off of the Hydrocodone. So they then put him on Suboxone.
“Suboxone (buprenorphine and naloxone) is a prescription medication used to treat opioid dependence by reducing cravings and withdrawal symptoms. As a sublingual film or tablet, it acts as a partial agonist to manage addiction while preventing abuse. Common side effects include nausea, headache, constipation, and dental issues.”
That reduced his cravings for Hydrocodone but it didn’t help the pain in his back. They then put him on Gabapentin along with the Suboxone. As he built up tolerance of the dosage of Gabapentin they kept raising the dosages. His last dosage amount was 2600. That is quite high but apparently they can go even higher. You can become addicted to Gabapentin also.
“Yes, it is possible to become addicted to and physically dependent on gabapentin, particularly with long-term use or doses exceeding prescribed amounts. While originally thought to have low abuse potential, it affects the brain’s reward system, leading to tolerance, cravings, and withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, and sweating if stopped abruptly.”
But what was really bad was having him on both Suboxone and Gabapentin.
“Taking gabapentin and Suboxone (buprenorphine/naloxone) together poses significant safety risks, as both are central nervous system (CNS) depressants that can increase the danger of severe respiratory depression, dangerous sedation, and overdose. While sometimes used together under strict medical supervision for pain or withdrawal, this combination is generally advised against due to risks of intensified side effects.”
He seemed to be alright when the dosages were small but the dumb assed doctor kept going higher and higher on the Gabapentin. It was really scary how he started acting and this went on for well over a year before they did anything about it.
My advise people DON’T take these mind/mood altering drugs if you can keep from it.
“It is possible to become addicted to and physically dependent on gabapentin, particularly with long-term use or doses exceeding prescribed amounts. While originally thought to have low abuse potential, it affects the brain’s reward system, leading to tolerance, cravings, and withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, insomnia, and sweating if stopped abruptly.”
So NOW they put him on Oxycodone, which is addicting also. Go figure! Apparently his wife and the doctors figure what does it matter now. The fact he is on Oxygen 24/7 he probably won’t live many more years.
“Oxycodone is generally more potent (roughly 1.5 times stronger) than hydrocodone, often used for more severe pain, while both are Schedule II semi-synthetic opioids treating moderate to severe pain. Oxycodone is derived from thebaine, whereas hydrocodone is derived from codeine. While both carry high addiction risks, oxycodone may cause more intense euphoria.”
I know people feel pain differently. I have been blessed that I can tolerate pain without something to cover it up.
Dolly I too had Shingles but like I said, I have been fortunate and didn’t feel severe nerve pain. Every once in awhile I will get real itchy where the Shingles were.
My advise though, regardles how severly you may feel pain, use other things that are not addicting to get over the pain.
I am off to go watch the game now.
Oops!!! That should have been Seahawks and New England Braves.
Sleep well!
That has to be easier at home ❤️
New England Patriots.
Third time’s the charm. ;)
Good advice!!!!
Im so sorry your son is going through all this. And as a mom its heart wrenching.
Oxycodone Is the drug that got Rush into trouble
Just watched TPUSA HALFTIME SHOW. I really enjoyed it. And what a moving and powerful ending
Your shopping and eats sound wonderful. I made a bag of popcorn in my new microwave
Cotton i think it was you asking about what Jim got me. A Dreo space heater, Westinghouse electric blanket, 1.6 CF Magic Chef microwave and a triple fusion back massager ( which I’m using now)
Sorry haven’t posted. Weather’s no problem provided you don’t count worrying that the False Spring we’ve had for the last few weeks isn’t going to ruin crops and leave us with nothing to do when Summer comes but try to save what’s left from burning up.
May sound funny to folks who are suffering from Winter weather right now but most of folks I know around here are praying hard for all the snow and cold we can get.
Otherwise family/families are thriving, I’m still vertical and Grandma’s lovin’ every second of being a Great grandma to such a glorious flock of kids.
God bless all of you and I’ll try not to lurk so much.
Our last day of cold for at least a week! 👍
Watch this and then tell me which one you claim to be. I am a Christian.

This is pertinent to things I will be posting throughout several days in regards to TPUSA and Charlie Kirks assassination.
Looking forward to your findings.. You’ve always dove in headfirst researching and sharing. Admirable and inspiring. Thanks Spunky. Monday was a busy day of minutiae. After a big dinner at five crashed for 6 hour “nap”
