I’ve never heard of 1776.....is it good? I love The Patriot. Should I give it a watch?

When my son was stationed in Afghanistan, he told me that Lady would be coming over and would I like a picture with him. Josh knew Lady was a bigwig republican but that was about it. I replied, “Don’t bother. I have no respect for that two-faced weasel. Also, don’t be surprised if Lady cancels the visit at the last minute.” My son was surprised at my response. But, he got the idea when, surprise!, Lady canceled the visit at the last minute.
I wish Trump were not quite so diplomatic. Ought punch Lady right in the kisser.
Give it a watch. It is a musical. It depicts in a humorous way some of the trials of getting this nation off the ground.

Our summer usually begins with "Taking Chance" for Memorial Day--- a movie about escorting the remains of a fallen soldier home. This is very well done.
July 4th viewing includes: the first DVD of the mini-series "John Adams". While the whole series was very well done, the first DVD takes the viewer through the events leading to the July 4 declaration and it is compelling; probably the best we've ever seen. If it's rainy, we'll watch this one twice.
Sometime during the holiday mini-vaca or lead-up to it, we'll also watch "1776": a terrific musical version of the same events in 1775-76. The music is wonderful, as is the cast. It's thoroughly enjoyable!

I am completely out of the loop when it comes to movie watching, as it’s been years since I became disgusted with what Hollywood was churning out. I realize I’ve missed some good ones. The last movie (other than The Patriot and Braveheart) I watched and quite enjoyed was Babe. Lol - I gave up after that.
Little tidbit.....years ago an extended family member had an extensive family tree done, and apparently we are distant (very distant lol) decendents of John Adams. I don’t think I believe it, but apparently some of his relatives settled in Canada at some point. I must ask Grok if this is true lol.
I’ll leave 1776 ‘til last.....only because I’m not fond of musicals.

Hey! How are you and the family? I’m enjoying the warmer weather but it has been so humid and I got a summer cold. My town in TX San Angelo got hit hard with the floods, just talked to my son and they’re all ok. Praying for the missing in Kerrville.
