Did you ever read the book “Plague Dogs” by Richard Adams? About dogs being used to experiment with diseases. This is the kind of thing he’s trying to eliminate in our modern world. It’s barbaric!
Four desserts! They sound delicious, and so does the meats. Sounds like Natalie doesn’t have to do much although I know she’s probably out doing herself as well. You should have leftover food for the rest of january! Or are you having a huge crowd?
So kind of you to do the taste test for us, so we don’t have to :-) or we could all do it and compare. I like the sound of the Skor better, butter versus vegetable oil? When I can eat dairy again it won’t even be a choice.
Oh no I don’t think I could read that book, it would give me nightmares. Yes it’s horrible what they do to animals, especially beagles because they are so sweet. Think Fauci. I hope he gets Justice one day, gets treated the way he treated the Beagle babies.
The toys are for Andy. I went to the shelter yesterday, and all the cats are very social except for this youngster hiding in the back of his cage. He finally came out for some treats and then he let me pet him, purring and rubbing his little hand in mind. Took a while for him to get comfortable. I figured the toy along with treats might help a lot next time.

Service call #6 was yesterday... This started as yearly maintenance call...he has destroyed a perfectly good furnace. I have 2 great space heaters and one of them died this morning. I ordered new glasses but couldn’t get back to get them adjusted..they did it wrong, so I paid for new glasses that I can’t see out of. I tried to answer the phone when I was driving and set off some voice app and can’t use my phone and wrecked my car.
The microwave quit working. Exhaust fan in kitchen stopped working. and the drains won’t drain. Idiot doctor prescribed the wrong meds and I am so sick. To tell you the truth, I am terrified
All in a month! Merry Christmas..I can’t believe I am spending in the cold.. no one understands why I no longer have any faith.

Prayers that you get the help you need at this time. Are there organizations in your town that can provide you with heat if it’s cold there?

I have such a great helper in Audrey! That kid loves baking and cooking. She actually made all of the desserts! All I did was make sure the ingredients she was throwing in (and I do mean throwing lol) were accurate. Other than that I did roll out the pastry, but she made it. The desserts look just like I had made them, with the holly leaves and berries (red and green, of course) on the apple pie, and little pasty snowflakes on the pecan pie. Cheesecake looks great and she’s going to throw the peach cobbler together today.
I’ve got the sauce simmering (although I have no idea what that’s for lol) on the stove. Maybe it’ll just be handy to have if anyone needs to throw together a meal.
The only thing Audrey is somewhat mediocre at is cleaning up lol! I don’t mind though, as I can take my time with that.
My arms are killing me and my back is sore, but that’s ok. A couple of Ibuprofen every few hours and life is good again! Oh, and I’m winning at both rummy AND cribbage these days!

Do you have a recipe for a no bake pumpkin pie? I know, that’s sort of sacrilegious. I’ve never made one so I understand. But hubby wants one and he’s gonna make it himself. Cream cheese and possibly whipped cream in it.

It would be just as easy to purchase a ready-made pastry, a can to ready-made pumpkin pie mix and introduce them to each other.....watch the magic happen lol.
