Trump goes to WAR against 'sanctuary city' Los Angeles with major lawsuit

Donald Trump is ramping up his war against liberal 'sanctuary city' Los Angeles with a new major lawsuit.

The Justice Department, led by Trump appointee Pam Bondi, sued the city on Monday following weeks of anti-ICE riots and destruction.

The lawsuit argues that LA's policies attempting to 'deliberately' thwart the work of immigration agents violate federal law.

'Sanctuary policies were the driving cause of the violence, chaos, and attacks on law enforcement that Americans recently witnessed in Los Angeles,' Bondi said in a statement to the Daily Mail.

'Jurisdictions like Los Angeles that flout federal law by prioritizing illegal aliens over American citizens are undermining law enforcement at every level – it ends under President Trump.'

It comes after DOJ also sued Chicago, Illinois, Denver, Colorado, Rochester, New York, challenging the cities' so-called sanctuary policies.

Los Angeles has drawn the ire of the Trump administration as local authorities were unable to quell the riots that overran parts of the city earlier in June.

In response to the riots, Trump took control of the California National Guard and ordered them to descend upon the city.

He directed them to 'provide safety around buildings and to those that are engaged in peaceful protests, and also to our law enforcement officers, so they can continue their daily work,' as described by DHS Secretary Kristi Noem during a CBS interview earlier this month.

The president slammed rioters as 'bad people' and 'animals' and even flirted with invoking the Insurrection Act.

He brushed off California Gov. Gavin Newsom's claim that the deployment inflamed the situation.

And he would not rule out use of an authority to deploy military forces...

A president who enforces the law is a novel thing to lefties.

people have been pointing out that the protests in Fl over Alligator Alcatraz sure look different than in other parts of the country.

That’s because they know they can get run over if they start climbing over cars trying to stop people

Has NYC been sued yet too or is President Trump waiting to see what happens with the mayoral election?

Normally, insurrection is not met with a lawsuit.

Usually a bit more violent then that...

About time. California has been in open rebellion (i.e. insurrection) against the Federal Government and the US Constitution for many years now. It should have been nipped in the bud when it first started.

Actually she isn’t. Instead of wasting time fighting in the courts she, Kash and Banjo should be out there cracking skulls and arresting the insurrectionists.

All these California illegal aliens are counted in the US Census. Many by extrapolation, I will assume. These illegals allow California to claim and have more Congressman than it deserves.

A very useful bill in Congress will be to have two counts in the US Census for each State. One for US Citizens and one for all inhabitants. Then use only the US Citizen count for representation in the US House of Representatives.

For the American people to have allowed the illegal so called “sanctuary cities” (and states) for even ONE SECOND was wrong.

What about organized crime groups declaring their areas off limits? Or me declaring my area a sanctuary so I can do what I want and have the freedom of speech and action.

My car could be my sanctuary car as I travel to bring justice and punishment to the guilty.

Doesn’t sound like it would work.
But the leftists do it all the time against us.

“Arrest them, don’t sue them.”

Looks like they are following the Eisenhower and JFK model.

Get the judgement in a Federal court first, then use whatever is the minimum force required to effect the validated law.

But as much force as needed for that outcome.
