"Trump has built a diverse working-class coalition. Can he pass it on to his successor?"
The Democrats’ defeat in 2024 reflected long-term shifts in the electorate, not merely Kamala Harris’s vulnerability or Joe Biden’s decision to seek re-election. If these trends persist through the 2028 presidential election, the long-predicted realignment of America’s political parties will be completed.
The New York Times reported on May 24 that the Republican Party had increased its vote share in three consecutive presidential elections in 1,433 counties, nearly half the national total. The Democratic Party had increased its share in all three elections in only 57 counties. Some 42.7 million voting-age Americans live in counties with consecutive Republican gains, compared with only 8.1 million in counties with consecutive Democratic gains...

MAGA needs a 30-40 seat House majority and 60 Senators to change the country. The GOP is not capable of providing those majorities, as once again the President is in office because of winning 2X Obama 2X Trump districts that no other official with a GOP label can ever win.
Anything that threatens the GOP's progressive globalist dream, which comes down to a global free market in labor, thay will undermine - as they are doing right now. Important top officials in Trump 2.0 are long-term Democrats.
Both "major parties" are at war with themselves. It's time to strike while the iron is hot. "Battons le fer quand il est chaud!"
>> Both “major parties” are at war with themselves. It’s time to strike while the iron is hot.
Stop talking in code. What exactly does “striking while the iron is hot” mean in this context?
I don’t think Vance will fool them. Not sure they’re ready to go for a GOP gal. Who’s a strong, Working Joe conservative?
And no, Marco’s not it. At least for 2028.
.
Most working Joe conservatives hate only one thing more than Democrats - unfortunately, that’s Republicans.
My advice to Trump on 1/20/17 was that he had six months to denounce the GOP and announce a campaign to find, fund, and run 435 patriots in every House district in 2018.
This could still be done, only this time with a steering committee of Tulsi Gabbard, JD Vance, RFK jr, Steven Miller, and a guy like Michael Anton, none of whom were available in 2017.
There is zero chance of an American restoration as long as the GOP exists.
You mean yet another 3rd party?
That is poor, even miserable advice.
Trump is the Republican party. The few ultra conservative hold outs have little chance to pass their extreme bills
Politics is the art of the possible and pretending to be relevant
It’s not that the Republicans have won, but the Democrats have failed. Actually, they just lost their minds. Americans aren’t ready to disbelieve their own eyes.
That’s because Democrats come right out and tell you what they are going to do. Republicans tell you what they are going to do to get elected then turn around and stab you in the back.
Vance is the heir apparent, and he is getting on the job training.
Jim, you predicted utter disaster for the Republicans in 2024. Do I need to repost some of your failed predictions?
He’s a Yalie who was groomed and placed there by Bilderberg board member/globalist Peter Thiel. Despite his book and family story, he hasn’t resonated with the working class.
Only if we retain the House.
Looking outside the box, all political “parties” are dead; Trump has trumped them.
Politics, as we have been hoodwinked into accepting, is dead.
He hangs on to the Republican label to fend-off conservative chaos.
For the moment, it is all about governing the USA.
After the mid-terms, the demolition will be complete...provided conservatism and common sense win.
Then can Trump and his hand-picked conservative cadre begin to rebuild a semblance of a party.
And a common sense member of the cadre (Vance, IMO) should begin the tremors of change during the midterm campaigns
But even then, any party that forms which cares only about itself will be crushed.
A ‘Great America’ party?
We the People
I disagree. All ther working class in my family like Vance and see him as the heir apparent.
It’s easier to take over the existing RINO party than to create a separate new one.
Indeed, we’re almost done.
