Harvard president pressed on why Americans hate university, acknowledges 'real problems we should address'

… Wall Street Journal editor-in-chief Emma Tucker pressed Garber on why "a lot of people in America really hate Harvard." Trump recently announced he would be freezing federal funds that go to the university, and Harvard responded by filing a lawsuit against the Trump administration.

As Garber noted that there was a strong dislike for elite universities in general, he added, "But I will say that we've had some real problems that we should address. One of them is the perceived lack of ideological diversity, among our faculty and among our students."

"I have to say that there's recent evidence that makes me think maybe this is overblown, even though I think it's a real problem. But the perception is out there that we are an almost uniformly left-wing institution," he said.

Tucker then pressed Garber on why the faculty at Harvard skewed liberal, citing a study by The Harvard Crimson that found that over 77% of the faculty surveyed in 2023 identified as either "very liberal" or "liberal."

"One thing I can tell you is it's nothing deliberate about our hiring policies or our tenure policies, and I think there are certain fields with people with more liberal or left-wing points of view feel more welcome. It may be that we don't have as many conservatives as we should have. Part of it also may be that people don't feel comfortable speaking out when they disagree," he said.

He said that part of what Harvard faculty needed to do was "promote the idea that it doesn't matter what your personal views are, you need to teach in a way that is fair to multiple points of view."

Cut their Fed. Funding off and no longer give any “students” Fed. Loans.

More than enough already.

HaavaaRD needs to return to its Divinity Skool Roots.

What? What? Is Harvard president, Garber saying there are people who think a black liberal, a white liberal, an Asian liberal, a trans liberal, a gay liberal, a Hispanic liberal and a Native American Indian liberal isn't 'diversity'?

Harvard started out as a Bible-based Christian school. It was targeted for takeover and destroyed from within.

Honestly, I could care less about Harvard. Or Columbia. Or Penn.

They’re like Springsteen. Totally full of himself, talentless, hates Americans of good character, and has a product that is vapid and flatulent that entertains a large swath of people who probably hate me. However, he has a great drummer.

Ok, Harvard doesn’t have any great drummers. But while Springsteen sucks, he doesn’t live rent-free in my head.

However, we live rent-free in the head of Springsteen and Harvard faculty. And that is beautiful.

Another problem is that Harvard has decayed into a racist anti-Semitic hellhole with violent Muslim imperialists blocking Jewish students and Jewish professors from campus and classes.

With Jews earning 129 Nobel prizes over the years, it is clear that Harvard's racist activities are subversive to the scientific advancement of the country.

In addiiton, the influence of certain Persian gulf states on the academic departments at Harvard blind side America about the nature of Islam and the politics of the Middle East. We need a Western viewpoint of what is going on there.

As Muslims often say, "First the Saturday people, then the Sunday people". So Christians should should feel that they are next up for violent persecution at Harvard.

...Forty years ago — Oct. 1, 1978 — my first book, “Harvard Hates America,” was published. I was 25 years old, had graduated from Harvard College and was in my second year at Harvard Business School...

...What I saw at Harvard 40-plus years ago now has crept down from colleges into high schools and even elementary schools...

Well there is some truth to what she says. If you are a conservative the changes are slim to none that you will be accepted into a Ph.D. program in history, sociology, women’s studies, etc. etc. And if by accident one is accepted, one conforms to the left-wing bias or are forced to leave the program. So the pool of candidates from other Ivies contains no conservatives.

I despise them because they claim all the time they spend with Muzzie terrorists outside protesting is time that they were in the lab spending U.S. taxpayer dollars doing “research.”

It's strange that with the reported anti-Semitism, Harvard's president is Jewish. Over 10% of its faculty is Jewish & about 10% of it's students are Jewish. Bear in mind that Jews are 2% of the population. If I was a liberal, I'd be screaming, not about Gaza, but about how Jews are dissing DEI with their being overrepresented at Harvard and other institutions/companies/govt but we know that liberals only throw out that DEI card when it suits them.

Too late! Smart Americans know that Harvard became a liberal cesspool decades ago. The only people that go there are those seeking entry to the good old boys club and DEI choices given preference over yellow and white students.
