U.S. private-sector employers ramped up their demand for workers in late March, while layoffs fell broadly and worker confidence strengthened, underscoring the labor market’s resilience heading into the second quarter, according to Labor Department data released Tuesday.
The number of private-sector job openings increased in March, helping to more than offset a broader decline in total openings driven by reductions in government hiring. Employers posted 7.19 million vacancies on the last business day of the month, down slightly from a revised 7.48 million in February. Openings remain above pre-pandemic levels, highlighting sustained employer demand for workers even amid broader economic policy shifts.

We need a new job title: Old man’s job. Gotta be easy money for the tired and lazy. The jobs that just require a body. Eyes and ears perhaps.
Now, I'm an old white guy. Age discrimination is still a thing, and also working against me is the aversion of hiring white people, male people, and USA citizen people. "We only hire women/India/Chinese/newly-graduated."
But can you get them to show up to work? Everyone wants a job but few want to work.
Nearby Farmer brought in workers from south Africa. I’d like to poach two of them.
That is because I am still seeing customers delaying their projects and associated hiring.
To be sure, my sample size is too small for a valid statistical conclusion.
Fewer bureaucrats shoveling dollars onto the pyre of waste.
More productive citizens working to improve each others’ lives.

I’ve been watching listings as my company is not doing well (handwriting is on the wall).
There may be a few more jobs out there, but wages are not good, very low. We need huge demand and way less illegals for that to change.
