President Donald Trump repeatedly needled CNN and its primetime anchor Kaitlan Collins on Monday during an exchange in the Oval Office about deported El Salvadoran national Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
President Trump took several shots at CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins as she peppered him with questions in the Oval Office Monday over the wrongful deportation of an El Salvadoran national who the US Supreme Court ruled should be returned to the United States for now.
Trump repeatedly needled Collins, who is also the network’s White House correspondent, including calling her a “low-rated anchor” and slamming CNN’s credibility as he took questions alongside El Salvador President Nayib Bukele.
Collins wanted answers about the deportation of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was removed to the Center for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT), the Central American country’s hellhole mega-prison, last month under the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act.
The Trump administration has claimed Abrego Garcia was a member of the violent MS-13 gang, but the US Supreme Court directed the White House to “facilitate” his release from the prison on April 10.

Higgins/The White House When Collins first prodded Trump about the issue, he pointed to CNN’s less-than-stellar ratings before passing the baton to Attorney General Pam Bondi to defend the deportation and subsequent actions.
Then Trump tapped homeland security adviser Stephen Miller to speak up while taking another shot at Collins’ employer.
“Can you just also respond to that question because you know it’s asked by CNN and they always ask it with a slant because...

Not because he would be persecuted, but because he said he would be persecuted by a rival gang.
There's a difference.
There's no objective evidence that what he's saying is true. Instead, what he's offering up are excuses why he should be allowed to stay here in the USA.
He was picked up at Home Depot in March 2019. While in custody, he and his wife were married in June 2019 in an attempt to circumvent US immigration laws, which is illegal.
After he was ordered removed, he again tried to circumvent immigration laws by trying to claim asylum even though asylum must be requested at a port of entry before entering the country, not after living here illegally for over 10 years.
Then, in 2021, he wife requested a PPO against him for domestic violence. Now, she's set up a GoFundMe page telling the world he's the love of her life.
Was she lying to the court in 2021, or is she lying to the world, now?
“...but I’ve read that he was given a special status akin to asylum because of his claim of threats to his life in El Salvador.”
No.
The latest media hoax.
A very fair statement.
A “Maryland man” LOL
Thanks for the info. I just wanted clarification of his immigration status because of all the conflicting accounts of it that are out there in the media.
a Maryland man
The latest media hoax.
first there was florida man now maryland man...whats next ?
There is a status (believe it or not) called “relieved from removal” or some such. You’re still illegal, you’re still under a removal order, but they promise you they won’t insist (no really, that exists).
His legal removal order (from which he was relieved) specified that, when eventually he was removed, he would not be sent to El Salvador.
Now all of those things are sort of like the “Budapest memorandum” so beloved of our Zeepers. A piece of paper, issued by Clinton, or Obama, or Biden’s auto pen. What one Article II President can give, another can take away.
Them’s the facts. Probably not the best test case - unless the purpose is to test the scope of the Judicial power of the United States. Maybe that’s it?
To the Democrats, an insult is when you tell the truth about them.
“Except no court has jurisdiction so they can say what they want but he was lawfully deported as only the President has that decision.”
I guess you missed the partl “USSC”.
Yep. Trump is the Honey Badger. No doubt.
I like this in his dealings with the Left, because it is the only thing they understand. As a rule, they view civility as a weakness and will exploit it.
Trump is not one of those who has a need to be liked. And I view that as a positive.
YVW. As expected the media is doing their best to muddy the waters in order to push their agenda.
He was allowed to be deported, to anywhere EXCEPT El Salvador.
Court found a rival gang would likely kill him if returned.
Will this become as big as Elian Gonzalez?
The El Salvadoran prison should release him to the rival gang’s whims.
No, I read his lawyers argued that, not a court ruling.
Two courts agreed to deportation orders.
Maybe Trump will get the keys to Collin’s house after he sues the crap out of her.
The byword is true:
No matter how much you hate the media, you don’t hate them enough!
“...Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man...”
No. They don’t have it either. I guess you’re an idiot. Why you so stupeed?!
Key points from Ludecke v. Watkins:
The Supreme Court held that the President’s determination under the Alien Enemies Act is not subject to judicial review regarding the wisdom or necessity of the action.
The Court stated:
“The determination by the President that an alien is to be deported pursuant to the Alien Enemies Act is not subject to judicial review as to the wisdom or necessity of the action.”

I don’t need a laugh track to know when to laugh. Laugh tracks are an insult to the intelligence of the audience. Same thing goes for your idiotic “barf alert.” Evidently you think people are too stupid to think like you and you want to tell them what to think.
