Tesla remained far ahead of the competition in Q1 2025, selling 128,100 EVs — more than the next 10 brands combined.

The Model Y and Model 3 continued to lead the charts, showing Tesla’s strong grip on the U.S. electric vehicle market.

Overall, EV sales in the U.S. grew to nearly 300,000 units, with Tesla driving the momentum forward.

TESLA DOMINATES U.S. EV SALES IN Q1 2025

Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 remained the top-selling EVs in the U.S. during the first quarter, with 64,051 and 52,520 units sold, respectively.

Despite a year-over-year drop for the Model Y, the Model 3 saw a 70% sales jump, while the Cybertruck ranked tenth with 6,406 deliveries.

Other top performers included the Mustang Mach-E, Chevy Equinox EV, and Honda Prologue, but Tesla still outsold the next several models combined.

Despite a year-over-year drop for the Model Y, ...

Despite the fake news from anti-Musk liberals, Tesla is doing well. Because of revamping the Model Y production line for new models, there was a drop in production of the Model Y. It was planned. The new production line is being ramped back up to full production.

Aside from that, Biden said GM is the number one EV leader. Liar, liar, how is that working out for GM?

Yes, but what is the TREND in OVERALL EV sales?
Is it up or down?

Beating all other EV makers is meaningless unless your sales trends are up.

Per AI....

Ford lost approximately $132,000 on each electric vehicle (EV) it sold—including the F-150 Lightning—during the first quarter of 2024. This figure is based on a reported $1.3 billion loss in Ford’s Model e EV division for Q1 2024, divided by about 10,000 EVs sold in that period. The losses are attributed to industry-wide price cuts, high production costs, and lower-than-expected sales volumes.

If trends are down then a positive spin could work..... “We don’t suck as bad as the other guys.”

Ok, next question— will Tesla maintain its sales increase without government subsidies?

Govt subsidies to Tesla is one of the things I dont like about Elon Musk. Love what he is doing to help POTUS Trump. But he does have his hand in the candy jar himself.

True. EV’s should stand on their own in the marketplace.

But all manufacturers enjoy the subsidies.

It’s just that Tesla is the best EV out there.

Precisely. I will be impressed if Tesla can maintain or exceed its sales WITHOUT subsidies. Otherwise, this segment of the car industry is simply a large welfare recipient, just like the bankrupt Solyndra was.

Why hasnt Trump cut these subsidies to all of them yet? The market by itself would not support EV’s.

Next year’s stats are going to be really interesting.

Yes, that's an understatement. What with economic storms brewing, possibility of wars, layoffs and tariff wars, now does not seem to be a good time to buy a new car. That is, unless absolutely necessary. People need to focus on low-cost reliable vehicles, and not expensive impracticable usage vehicles. But people make crazy decisions.

Did you see this from BRICS News?

“European Union likely to suspend resolution efforts with China on Electric Vehicle tariffs amid ongoing talks with the US.”
