Elon Musk reveals jaw-dropping DOGE find he had to read several times before it 'sank in'

Elon Musk revealed the jaw-dropping number of fraudulent unemployment claims his agency found, claiming he had to read the documents several times before it 'sank in.'

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is investigating wasted taxpayer money as a matter of urgency after Donald Trump promised voters huge savings at the federal government.

DOGE announced their findings from an initial survey of unemployment insurance claims since 2020 on Wednesday that shocked Musk.

The study found at least 24,500 people over 115 years old claimed $59 million in benefits.

At least 28,000 people under the age of five claimed $254 million in benefits, as well as 9,700 people with birth dates over 15 years in the future claimed $69 million in benefits, according to DOGE.

In one shocking case, DOGE said they found someone with a birthday in 2154 who claimed $41,000 in benefits.

Musk shared the findings on his X account, claiming he was so stunned by the numbers it took him multiple times to grasp the information.

'Your tax dollars were going to pay fraudulent unemployment claims for fake people born in the future,' Musk said. 'This is so crazy that I had to read it several times before it sank in.'

Social media users agreed with Musk's shock and called for the people who made the fraudulent claims to be punished.

'Never in my life have I seen such greed and conniving as what DOGE has uncovered,' one person said.

'Unemployment claims for people who not only don't work but people who haven't even been born yet. Who thinks these things up,' said another.

But how much is fraud and how much is fat fingers on a keyboard?

I am disappointed no one ever seems to be charged for the fraud.

This is due to massive theft of SS numbers the last 20 years by illegal aliens. The child has an SS number and unfortunately dies. Guess who steals this unused SS number, to slap onto a forged ID?

Fat fingering a keyboard could never input a birthdate in 2154.

That has to be intentional.

Someone posted the same on X that most were RATs. Musk posted a one word answer and it was yes.

Some of the democrats are very quiet right now. I imagine they are trying to stay out of the limelight because they are guilty as sin.

At first they screamed and lashed out with stompy feet. Now some have grown very silent.

either way there should be internal controls

who wrote the software?

I hope they’ve enjoyed their ill gotten gains. No need to worry about any of them even being questioned with Blondi and Patel comatose asleep at the wheel. If only we could make Musk AG/FBI Director then we could fire Trump’s top two shadow state stooges.

Finding fraud in age groups (or even non living people) is the easy part and it’s a wonder it’s never been done before. They just ran some database queries and selected data records (or sorted them) based on ages or DOB.

What this means is that there is probably A LOT MORE fraud in there that is not quite as easily identifiable, at least in one step, because they are within normal adult eligible age groups.

Democrats were always generous with other people’s money.
I remember, when Reagan tried reign in gov spending, I read an article, seriously claiming how great Democrats are.

“Democrats would rather spend money on hundred of fraudsters, than leave one deserving man starve.”
“We are just so compassionate, we make sure that every starving person gets their share, even if it means that we let some money go to waste.”

I can recall working for the Democrats in a neighboring state and pointing out fraud and being told that the government was not opposed to money being funneled to the communality. It was infuriating.

Wait a minute - didn’t Doge find (https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/social-security-database-doge/2025/03/18/id/1203290/) 12 million people aged 120+ way back in mid-March?

did the number drop to 24K?

As I remember, when they retracted that 12 million number, it was that DOGE incorrectly read the systems — SSA systems run on COBOL and had rules like if Social Security lacks certain birthdate information, it defaults to displaying May 20, 1875.

Consequently, people whose birthdates are unrecorded appear to be 150 years old.

The date May 20, 1875, marks the foundation of the International Bureau of Weights and Measures. The SSA adopted this historical date as part of the COBOL programming standards, which were established for consistency across various systems. This means when no date of birth is logged, the default date teachers programme pick kicks back, and the peculiar phenomenon of ‘150-year-olds’ ensues.

DOGE should hire 60 year old programmers who know their way around COBOL, Basic, TPF, Fortran etc.

One of the first things that you learn in business school is that your job consists of Planning, Leading, Organizing, and “control.” Control means putting methods in place to ensure that things are getting done in the right manner.

There doesn’t seem to be much control going on. Most of these errors are clearly “input” errors. They should be caught and corrected in periodic reviews.

Without proper controls, you have no idea if you are doing your work correctly and efficiently.
