OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - As Republican lawmakers are being discouraged to hold town halls, Rep. Mike Flood (R-Neb.) powered on as the crowd chanted, “tax the rich.”
“So your proposal to solve this is to tax the rich?” Flood asked the crowd.
They responded with cheers.
From social security to international relations, Nebraskans grilled Flood.
“Would you oppose going to war with Canada?” one person asked.
“Yes,” said Flood. “Canada is a long-time important ally of the United States of America.”
The crowded liked that answer.
Others elicited boos.
This tense town hall is just a snapshot of politics across America. With others in North Carolina and Texas highlighting discontent with Republican political leaders for not pushing back against President Trump’s cuts in federal programs such as Veteran Affairs or USAID or support for Russia’s Vladimir Putin.
“Would you agree that your constituents are the boss of you, not President Trump,” asked one man.

As difficult as this is it is important for reps to have these town hall meetings. Don’t be cowards like the left that since the tea party movement has refused to hold them.
Astrotruf.
You only have the miscreants and malcontents showing up at these town halls. The majority of American’s don’t show up to these meetings and like the direction the country is going in.
Omaha is as liberal as Austin, Texas.
Putin! Russia! Putin! Russia!
This is absurd. Republicans are protesting Trump supporting Putin?
Then why did he increase sanctions?

I recall the “protestors” are being paid $40 / hour by Soros…
They should have RSVP only town halls with known Republican voters. Don’t allow the Soros people to muddy the waters
best solution would be Woodstock style security at these townhalls. no cops, just the hells angels, no holds barred, no charges brought for “keeping the peace” and paid by the barrel...in their choice of beer. one or two of these type of townhalls and word will spread quickly that liberal activist troublemakers are a boon to local emergency rooms.
To this guy Aspen, the most important thing is “free markets.” No wonder he is now a Democrat.
Let them in and then stick to your guns. Don’t let them shout you down. Go in knowing they are plants there to disrupt. Have plenty of security just in case, but if they stay civil, let them make fools of themselves. They want to force us to retreat from the public square through fear and intimidation. Don’t give them what they want.
This "Town Hall" obviously has been bird-dogged.
Republicans need to confirm having their own supporters present and prepared to shout down and get in the face of these "professional provocateurs" of the Violent Left before agreeing to ANY public meeting.
I think you are thinking of Altamont Speedway rock festival, not Woodstock.
“ They should have RSVP only town halls with known Republican voters.”
Problem with that is they represent all voters.
Hats off to this guy for wading in and doing this.
Invite Musk as a guest speaker for a DOGE update and have crowd control arrest teams waiting. Tell Maga to stay home while we adjust the set.
Then arrest until the jails are overflowing, and water cannon the rest outside.
It’s time to make omelets.
Take down license plate numbers and put them on terrorist watch list. Also, give their names to TSA. Full cavity body searches, not to say they won’t enjoy it.
Lefties are bused in for just such events.
Reminds me of the time Rush said he appeared for an interview, he thought was one-on-one, only to be ambushed and confronted by a panel of Rush-hating lefties. Said it was the last interview he agreed to.
Miscreants and malcontents aside, Mike Flood isn’t exactly one of good ones IMO. Around Memorial Day 2023 he was a guest (while Tom Young was filling in for David) on the David Webb show, and got uppity with a couple of callers on the subject of raising the debt ceiling. Flood came off as a a complete asshole. Around that. Same time Wilkow had John James on the program, who had vigorously defended his voting in favor of raising the debt ceiling as well.
It would appear that this Town Hall meeting was salted with likely paid leftist agitators.
Altamont, not Woodstock!
I was at Woodstock and we took care of each other. Law enforcement focused on traffic and town-related issues.
And a good time was had by all!
