A pair of Senate Democrats from a key battleground state on Thursday said that they would vote against the GOP’s six-month spending bill, raising questions about the possibility of a government shutdown when funding expires on Friday.
Arizona Sens. Mark Kelly (D) and Ruben Gallego (D) said they will oppose both the spending bill itself and a procedural motion to advance the measure, which requires 60 votes.
“I cannot vote for the Republican plan to give unchecked power to Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” Kelly said in a statement. “I told Arizonans I’d stand up when it was right for our state and our country, and this is one of those moments.”
Gallego echoed that sentiment, which has emerged as one of the main Democratic concerns.

You’re totally correct...
The title from the lying The Hill says they are voting to stop the shut down.
They must know people only read the headlines.
-From what I read, it can’t be more accurate.-
It could be more accurate if it read:
“Arizona Democrats say they’ll vote FOR the GOP bill to avert shutdown”
Two very stupid Senators. They have no purpose other than voting against the Majority that voted DJT President. No purpose, no solutions, only hate and trouble.
Or
“Arizona Democrats say they’ll vote against GOP bill resulting in a shutdown”
“Someone should tell them that shutting down the government will just make it easier for Musk and Doge to do their job”
Shhhh... They don’t need to know that.
“Arizona Democrats support Government shutdown”
Just like the fake Republican Senator that Arizona had. BTW, I won’t mention his name.
In Elons words. Traitors.
Two stolen elections have consequences.
The article:
A pair of Senate Democrats from a key battleground state on Thursday said that they would vote against the GOP's six-month spending bill
Arizona Sens. Mark Kelly (D) and Ruben Gallego (D) said they will oppose both the spending bill itself and a procedural motion to advance the measure
“I cannot vote for the Republican plan to give unchecked power to Donald Trump and Elon Musk,” Kelly said in a statement.
Gallego echoed that sentiment,
Gallego said in a statement. “I can't stand by that, and that's why I'm voting no.”
I can't see how that title can be any more accurate. You live in a parallel universe, it would appear.
Seriously, was there some thought they might do otherwise?
Kelly and Gallego. Arizona’s Twin Dildoes.
Kelly buys his suits from Trojan and Shiek.
-You live in a parallel universe, it would appear.-
In my parallel universe my dictionary defines avert as;
avert: verb (used with object)
to ward off; prevent
to avert (prevent) a shutdown.
The headline reads;
‘Arizona Democrats say they’ll vote against GOP bill to avert shutdown’
It reads that they will vote against the GOP bill to prevent a shutdown when they are voting against the bill to result in a shutdown.
My problem (besides my parallel universe) is just with the headline, not the article. The headline contradicts itself.
This is fun. Your turn.
They are clearly voting against the GOP bill that is meant to avert a shutdown, so they are for a shutdown.
So they are saving us Billions and you don’t want them to be in charge. They must be cutting into your cut . You both have no idea how pissed off we the people are at the amount of money YOU have been stealing. The working man is tired of getting ripped off. Times are changing.
Good lets have a schumer shutdown
Hope Democrats go ahead and shut it down. Worked in DC area for about 25 years. Whenever it snowed the government offices were quick to announce that only essential employees need go into work. Amazing how much traffic disappeared off the Beltway. If the Dems shut down the government for all but essential personnel, won’t they be helping DOGE by identifying those who can be eliminated?
-They are clearly voting against the GOP bill that is meant to avert a shutdown, so they are for a shutdown.-
In my universe, I just saw on Fox News that the Dems are going to vote for the GOP Bill to avert the shutdown.
