Pelosi Tore Up Trump’s 2020 Speech; Had to Watch Him from Benches in 2025

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), who infamously tore up President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address in 2020, had to watch in frustrated silence from the House benches as he addressed Congress on Tuesday.

Pelosi, gripping her cane, resigned her leadership post after the 2022 congressional elections, in which Republicans retook the House. She had held a firm grip on power in her party — even after leading it to historic defeat in 2010.

In 2020, she was in the midst of an effort to impeach and remove President Trump from power. When he delivered a rousing speech that touched on themes of patriotism and national greatness, she responded by tearing up her copy.

I don’t recall him ever being on camera. He wasn’t on the list of Dems who loudly proclaimed in advance that they would not attend. I cannot find anything that indicates he was there. Even Grok cannot find any evidence for him attending or boycotting the speech.

The last post on Fetterman’s own Senatorial web site is dated February 27 and says “Fetterman Joins Bipartisan Group of Pennsylvania Members to Reintroduce Bill Protecting Mushroom Farmers.”

I noticed, not one alphabet network had the time on the screen for the whole hour and half plus.

I surmised, no time in the frame, made it easier for them to edit and alter the speech, after the fact.

Normal network newscast, always have a corner box with time.
