President Donald Trump’s popularity is surging two months into his return to the White House.
Since taking office, he has wasted no time delivering on his campaign promises. His rapid pace of spending cuts, aggressive deportation policies, and hardline foreign policy stance appear to be resonating with the American people.
According to a new poll by DailyMail and J.L. Partners, President Trump’s approval rating has climbed by one percentage point over the past two weeks, reaching a historic high of 54 percent amid a deeply divided national sentiment. Younger voters notably drive the uptick in approval; 56 percent of those aged 18 to 29 now express approval, up from 51 percent just two weeks prior.
When asked about their changing perceptions of the president, more than one-third of Americans (36 percent) reported a more positive view, while only 16 percent indicated a more negative stance. President Trump’s return to the White House has been anything but quiet.
After securing a victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 election, he wasted no time in reshaping the country in his vision. From the moment he was sworn in on January 20, his administration has been marked by sweeping executive orders, aggressive policy shifts, and the same brand of political chaos that defined his first term.
The poll revealed a minor decrease in the president’s approval rating among Republicans, dropping from 92 percent to 89 percent. However, approval ratings increased among Democrats, from 20 percent to 22 percent, and among younger voters aged 18 to 29, from 51 percent to 56 percent.
Many respondents expressed that the president was fulfilling his commitments. “He has accomplished more so far this time than in his first four years,” said a female Harris voter from Pennsylvania.
One Trump voter from California commented, “He is more focused and less toxic.”
“Some pollsters have noticed a decline in Trump’s ratings,” said James Johnson, co-founder of J.L. Partners. “We think this is a reflection of non-response bias rather than reality: Basically, energized Democrats who were not answering polls a month ago now doing so.”
“Our polling was the most accurate in 2024, and we are confident this is the real picture: Trump’s approval rating holding firm rather than slipping,” explained Johnson.
Trump has focused on undoing much of what the previous administration put in place. He signed a series of executive orders dismantling diversity initiatives, slashing federal regulations, and restructuring government agencies.
One of his most talked-about moves was establishing a “Department of Government Efficiency,” led by none other than Elon Musk, tasked with overhauling federal operations. Immigration has also been a major focus, with Trump pushing to expedite deportations and resume construction of the border wall.
In foreign policy, Trump has taken an aggressive stance. His administration has floated the idea of taking control of Gaza, signaling a bold—some might say reckless—approach to Middle Eastern affairs.
His interactions with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelenskyy have been tense, particularly regarding U.S. military aid.
I am happy.
Zeepers saddened.
Watching the imagery.
It really is what is left of the Boomer against everyone else. The 60-80 year old leadership, and their Alt Left hangers on, in the Media/Political establishment are still playing with the 1970s political/media playbook.
They really have no grasp at all that we are now 1/4 the way thru the 21st century.
It is more obvious than ever that Trump’s intentions our good for the country. From his border policy, foreign policy to DOGE it is harder for his opponents to demonize him as being a threat to democracy. The dems look foolish when they try.
In spite of tariff Tuesday, I like Trump more than I did before. I certainly don’t like the pain of my food going up in price but, if that leads to the Lieberals being gone ASAP, I’m all in.
It’s pretty important, this poll result.
Congress GOPe types have to continue to believe opposing him is suicide for him to proceed.
Other than what happened Friday, this poll is more devastating for Ukraine than just about any other news of the past month. The GOP will not oppose whatever Trump wants.
I started with a cold war mentality, so was initially supportive of the Ukraine. However, the drip, drip, drip of information has changed my thinking completely. I won’t try to share it all and recognize that some at FR know more than I do.
Did the war start in 2022? No. Did it start in 2014? Probably not. Around that time, and earlier, there seems to have been shadowy intrigue from both sides. The big picture of NATO expansion to Russia’s doorstep is unmistakable.
Zelensky and everyone aligned with Zelensky have proven repugnant. If all I did was look at Trump’s frenemies, I would know which side to choose. Trump’s focus to end the war and the deaths is right. For some reason NATO and Europe chose to use the Ukraine as the pointed end of the spear to prod the Russian bear. They wanted war, and they lost. Ukraine will have to cede territory. I say no to a quagmire for America or to WWIII.
“The NASDAQ stock market index hit 5,200 under President Clinton, but crashed to 2,400 in Clinton’s last year, then more ,after 9-11. Nasdaq did not get back to 5,200 until Obama’s last year of 2016. Before people trash Trump because the Nasdaq “only” is 18,632 now... get over it. Without Trump. Nasdaq would now be 3,500, at best.”
Right now, Biden’s inflation ruined the Fed’s need to cut rates as planned, making Trump’s first year quite a challenge. If he cuts or eliminates the corporate income tax and replaces the tax on business payrolls by a VAT, his tariff policy would be a huge success.,as inflation and interest rates would fall.and the Fed finally could cut rates near 3%.Without tax reform or extending current cuts, Trump might get a recession or slowdown that harms GOP midterm chances.”
“More popular than Jesus.”
Dare we go there?
Yes, and since they know that if they knock President Trump, they'll be eventually thrown off this site, their new tactic is knocking VP Vance.
This started after Trump and Vance threw Zelensky out of the White House.
When it comes to inflation/dollar devaluation, I suggest you direct your ire to Congress.
We’ve read off and on for at least thirty years how our government’s spending and tax trendlines would result in trillion dollar deficits and debt surpassing GDP.
PDJT can’t reverse the past thirty years of profligacy.
We don’t despise Congress enough. If any institution will be responsible for our demise, it will be Congress.
It really is what is left of the Boomer against everyone else.
Polling results for Jesus:
During a certain week a long time ago, depending on the day of that week, He went from 80% approval on a Sunday, to about 5% approval on the following Friday, to a forever all-time-high Infinity approval percent the following Sunday, due to God casting the only vote that really matters.
President Trump has quite a way to go to reach the Infinity approval rating percent level. Every political leader does.
Actually, everyone who ever existed, except for Jesus, won’t ever get that Infinity approval rating percentage during the span of their mortal years.
The DeSantis mob here still thinks their god is politically viable. They are still pouting their god got spanked by Trump in 2024.
Their commentary is the worthless whining of sore losers.
I guess young Americans finally realized they were $35 Trillion in debt.
Well, jimmy carville said give it 30 days and it will spiral down. No, really.
He's disciplined. A superior team surrounding him this team. No Sessions, no Pence, etc.
