Republican Rep. Chip Roy of Texas introduced a bill Thursday that would repeal gas can regulations implemented under President Barack Obama's administration.
In the early 2000s, the vents in gas cans were removed due to a series of environmental regulations aimed at reducing vapor emissions. The vents by design prevented a vacuum from forming inside the gas can and would allow the gasoline to pour out smoothly.

My husband hates the newer gas cans. This is a great change.

Found out when I had to make a very long trip and did not want to pay the 50% higher prices at very rural gas stations.
Had to pay anyway, as I could not use the new cans without taking the spout off and pouring most of it on the ground.
Those new cans are awful, they are more dangerous and I spill more with them.
There are companies that just sell gas can pouring spouts. So you can throw out these stupid spouts that were mandated by some dumb A$$ a few years ago.
Now, we need to get someone with no aspirations to be POTUS to introduce a bill to take the 10% ETHANOL out of gasoline.
Yes, that will screw up the Gasoline Stabilzer business model. Plus all the TRUEFUEL type Gasoline ONLY fuel sellers.
Check YT videos on how to correct these gas cans into something usable. It’s really pretty easy.
I still kept an old one which still works fine—looks kinda grungy—would love to replace it with a non-Obama new one.

Yeah, the new das containers are worthless, but they are also extremely aggravating to use.
With the plastic gas can empty you punch a hole then when not pouring the gasoline you simply put a piece of tape over the punctured hole.
I got rid of them and bought old fashioned steel “Jerry cans”.
Problem solved.
I stuck a hole opposite side of spout and used a cork to plug it when not used.
I hope it passes! The democrats changed so many things that worked, the largest was our healthcare insurance. People cannot afford to have good care, not even those who had great employment.
Yep, I had to “re-engineer” these stupid gas cans back to common sense.
