They’d better hope the mine shaft elevator doesn’t break down.

A nice buyout package. Good luck in the real world. Bon Voyage.

Sounds like a great start! Add a zero to the end, then we’re really talking.

is there going to be a second round?

That should be just the beginning.

The whole unconstitutional Administrative State which MUST GO, has something like 2 million employees.

I thought a judge blocked it. To be followed by four years of injunctions, countersuits, new Executive order wordings, more court cases....

Federal “workers” want to relax in a recliner chair, booze and Fritos on one side and a fat, lighted blunt taking away their cares as they stream some great movies at home.

Beats working. Same as welfare hogs and illegals.

Maybe the dumb ones are hardworking honest Americans.

Sounds like a great start!

Not even 1 month in office and Trump has done what no president ever had the balls to do. They were either corrupt and in on the con-job, too stupid, or too scared to rock the boat.

Trump, the greatest president in your life.

Unfortunately, it only makes sense for people who were already planning to retire in that time frame.

It’ll be interesting to see how much, if any, pressure will come to do it again. I see people wanting to opt in and opt out.

The judge backed down...felt the heat and saw the light.

Lol.

75,000 X $150,000 (pay & benefits) = $11.25 Billion

It’s a start

Retire? You look at most of these corrupt bureaucrats, and most look like they just left their local Communist run university. I certainly don’t see many “Old” folks in their ranks.

That’s only 3.3% of the 2.3 million work force. The attrition rate in fiscal 2023 was 5.9%, retirees and those quitting. Sure more could be hitting the road in October - December and some already did in Jan. But I don’t know that it will hit 5.9% for year.

Bitter lefty clingers sticking with it to undermine PDT.

Now, you wait three months and see what isn’t getting done.

Then you attack the process problems within the departments. They should target 25-40% reduction in process time and a 25% reduction in expenses.

Musk’s group is doing a textbook process audit and efficiency analysis. Call it LEAN, call it Kaizen, call it processes re-engineering…it has been a staple in the Quality Management world for at least 100 years since it was introduced by Frederick Taylor.

The reason why it was never done in DC is because no one wanted to tangle with the Unions or Civil Service.

As an old TQM guy…this stuff is “nerdy” exciting.

Roll in retirement, taxes, and other benefits. We always used about 35% on top of salaries in our budgets. It was a good average in the private sector.
