Slated for release on Sept. 9, Just Shine! How to Be a Better You (Philomel Books) is a new collaboration between Sotomayor, 70, who wrote the story, and illustrator Jacqueline Alcántara.
Taking inspiration from Báez's "ability to help people recognize their own brilliance," per the publisher, the inspirational picture book "tells the story of a little girl from Puerto Rico who had the incredible ability to see the unique qualities of others and help them shine their brightest. She listened, she understood, she worked hard and she brought out the beauty in each person she met."
The aim of the book is to show "how helping others shine makes the whole world brighter," the publisher added.
"I attribute my success to my mother and all she taught me about being a good person and treating others with respect and care," Sotomayor said in a statement shared with PEOPLE.
She added, "Just Shine! How to be a Better You is the story of those lessons from my mother. I hope the children who read my book will enjoy learning about the simple ways we can help our friends shine and make the world a better place for us all."

The transcriber hired by the publisher had to work with Sotomayor’s nearly illegible drafts written in 1st grader chubby crayons. But admitted Sotomayor related to children because her mind so resembled theirs.
The SCOTUS opinions she gives are dictated and has some word for word passages from Law For Dummies.
They say her opinions have the fewest references to precedents of all the sitting justices.
Don’t Supreme Court Justices usually write books for their peers? Like law or history books?
It should be very clear now
Sotomayor is telling us she is resigning soon.
She’s had health issues - and now she’s in on the oldest female political grift there is: “writing children’s books.”

UnWise Latina spewing feel good stuff instead of what’s really important for kids to learn, like critical thinking and knowing adults are feeding them baloney.
This is one way the far left funnels bribes to bigwigs — phony book deals.
But only in her own mind. In reality she was a morbidly obese old lady with mental problems who had eaten herself into a sugar coma and was dying while all her sphincters released on the floor of her filthy government paid for apartment.
