Should Kash Patel secure Senate confirmation to lead the FBI, he will face the daunting task of subordinating a bureau of 13,000 agents with personnel actively begging Congress to intervene against the White House’s agenda and whose agents are suing the administration to block its implementation.
When nominating Patel, then-President-elect Donald Trump praised him as the “one guy” who could “make the FBI great again.” Patel’s reputation as a Trump stalwart and vocal critic of the deep state’s career bureaucrats already had FBI agents warning of mass resignations should he enter the post. But now, some seem more inclined to work against the MAGA agenda from within their posts. Patel is expected to eliminate some of the bureau’s top leadership and root out personnel whom he believes have politicized their roles.
The White House’s recent acquisition of data about the agents who worked on Jan. 6 cases in particular has raised concerns that they could seek to axe a large percentage of the bureau’s agents. That data revealed that roughly 5,000 FBI employees were involved in Jan. 6, CNN reported. Trump himself issued a blanket pardon of the roughly 1,600 participants who were convicted or still faced trial.
The episode led the FBI Agents Association and Center for Employment Justice to sue in bids to block any public release of information about the agents under scrutiny. The groups expressed concerns that the employees may face termination or some other form of retaliation.
A memo from acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove that the Associated Press obtained, however, informed agents that those who “simply followed orders” and acted ethically had nothing to fear and their jobs would be safe.

FBI Agents Association and Center for Employment Justice to sue in bids to block any public release of ***information about the agents under scrutiny***. The groups expressed concerns that the employees may face termination or some other form of retaliation.
That answered any questions I had hide the facts the stench of democrats lingers.
Nobody opposed it when they *reformed* it the first tie and weaponized it.
Taking it back to what it was should not be an issue.
“...the FBI Agents Association and Center for Employment Justice to sue ...”
Well, aren’t they Special.....
It’s going to be tough for Kash. The word is out. DJT is going for the knockout.
The FBI is a department run amok!
It would not harm the nation at all, if the FBI was dismantled (in its entirety) and reconstituted as a “lawful” arm of the Executive Branch.
I have, always, believed that were it not for the tremendous technological resources available to it, the FBI would pale by comparison to some Police Departments and Sheriff’s Offices around the country, in law enforcement capability.
I wouldn’t trust (not one) FBI agent as far as I could spit!
For an entity which has the “legal” authority to deprive you of your liberty, the FBI has “disgraced” the nation for nearly a decade.
It causes me to spit when I hear the name!
The FBI situation reminds me of the Cops shows where the cops pulls over a vehicle for a busted tail-light.
The cop smells marijuana when they approach the driver side window so that gives them probable cause to search the car.
They empty our the driver and three passengers in the car.
They found a bunch of coke, meth, marijuana, pills of various kinds, a big pile of cash and a couple of hand-guns.
The cop asks who wants to take responsibility for the various items in the car.
All four explain they have a right to remain silent and not rat out others in the car.
All four are indicted for possession of all the stuff.
That is how we have to treat the FBI.
They are all guilty of harassment and intimidation of the J6 political prisoners—and abolishing the agency may be the only possible alternative.
Republicans are a majority in Congress and several of the troublemakers obviously need to be fired post haste.
I don’t know, but it sounds like insurrection to me.
"Wir haben nur Befehle befolgt". Sounds much more melodic in the original tongue, but still not an effective defense.
Can Grassley tell Durban to pound sand - and simply call for a vote - no delays? If so, why didn’t he do so today?
Sure does. Prosecute, indict them and put them in prison.
Open new tent office in artic, move 13,000 jobs there. Start new jobs here.
There are plenty of cots at GITMO for all the insubordinate FBI agents.
Rebellion against a duly elected President and his cabinet? Sounds like an insurrection start building the gallows and expanding GITMO.
they need to find out who approved the pre-dawn raids
Precisely. Send that person to GITMO
5k just following orders? Give me a friggn break!
The Director has broad discretion to not only fire agents but also to reassign them to different locations or tasks. He (and/or POTUS or the AG) can also pull security clearances. I imagine the Director can take their service weapons away. Heck, he could assign agents to task forces for street crime or border enforcement. And on and on. I don’t litigation as providing angry agents with much comfort.
Sounds like a coup?
