President Donald Trump on the first day of his administration stripped the security clearances of a number of anti-Trump former officials, including retired Gen. Michael Hayden, an adviser to Newsguard, the establishment pro-censorship group operating a news blacklist against conservatives.

Trump’s removed 50 security clearances, including former CIA and National Security Agency (NSA) Director and retired Air Force General Michael Hayden.

Hayden is a controversial public figure, even for those in the Never Trump camp.

Ex-CIA director and member in good standing of the intelligence Mafia. He’s happy to tell us what news we’ll be allowed to read.

Can someone explain why any former official should have an active security clearance?

Keep going down the list and when they’re all fired, go back and fire some who aren’t on it just for good measure.

Easy, they can ‘claim’ to have inside sources...and the media will never challenge them on it.

This will make it a little harder for them to rake in the big bucks with all their tickets but they’ll probably stay in their positions and claim that their advice is based on interpretations of OSINT.

“Can someone explain why any former official should have an active security clearance?”

The idea was for the present administration to have access to their knowledge and wisdom, so as to keep serious problems from developing around the world. But I suspect that Trump really doesn’t think too much of them given that their policies resulted in the Middle East on fire, Europe on Fire, and China quickly securing power in their neighborhood.

Depending on the clearance and what contract it’s tied to, they can be valid for several years to 10 years.

No reason for them to have this clearance anyway except to line their own pockets. When you’re fired from a company, your access to their computer system is shut off. It should be the same for these bureaucrats.

I certainly can’t explain it. I’ve had clearances from C to TS in my Navy and defense industry days and every time an assignment or contract changed the clearance was revoked, same day. Of course I was not an office holder or a General...

Trump needs to fire all Hayden flag officers. The sooner the better.

Hayden won’t starve. He makes over $200,000 per year in military retirement pay.
