Indians have long been proud of what they see as their outperformance in the information technology sector. Companies such as Infosys Ltd. and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. dominate IT-enabled services, bringing home billions of dollars in profits. US technology giants including Alphabet Inc., Microsoft Corp., and International Business Machines Corp. have Indian-origin CEOs. India-trained engineers labor in the trenches of Silicon Valley and invisibly help Western companies adapt to the digital age.

India was never great.
Note the date.
Doing the work Americans won’t do, just like the African slaves.
1) They never were ‘special’. Mostly they were forcing on the workers by management.
2) In my experience if the manger was Indian the group eventually became all Indian. This provided the manger with his own little kingdom to bully and rule over. Ive seen it go so far as the manger would ‘hold’ the underlings work visa so he had full control.
3) The vast majority of Indian workers I was associated with bordered on incompetent. They just aren’t good at a lot of technical things.
4) A lot of my work eventually became a cleaner to correct the many many errors and design screw ups the Indian ‘developers’ committed. In any engineering endeavor you can have any two of fast, good and cheap. The third is determined by the two you pick. The Indians were always cheap and fastish. That meant the product wasn’t good….ever.
4) They were nice enough for sure but had no business being given the fast track treatment. To all but a less than handful I’d say go home, you won’t be missed.
They are brought in replace American workers.
Except for the part where they get paid many times what they’d earn at home, get to bring their relatives over to do likewise, work to hire only their own, and now run much of the industry entirely and are busy devising controls and monitoring for our lives to turn us into the caste-based, obedience-driven culture that stagnates India already.
Id like to thank Musk and Vivek for exposing the H1b visa scam to the rest of America.
In my opinion, India smells bad and the food sucks.
Hardware engineer, data scientist and project manager make more than Americans. That is interesting.
If it’s so great, why come here?

There’s an old saying: “You get what you pay for”.
They never were special, just chattle property for their fellow indians.
What damnable arrogance from a bunch of street-sh***ers. The United States was digital 40 years ago.
People who weren’t there can’t fathom how much korporate executives seethed at having to pay for IT talent in the late 1990s and early 2000s and how determined they were to have their government cronies undercut salaries by importing slaves.
“Id like to thank Musk and Vivek for exposing the H1b visa scam to the rest of America.”
LOL, not what they intended, but that definitely was the outcome!
You get around it by using the “show reader” function on Safari. With Chrome and Brave there is no problem. I can’t speak to the other browsers because I haven’t installed them on my iPhone.
Thank you, I didn’t realize it was browser specific. I’ll use one of those you mentioned.
They must be using H1B Indian contractors to design and run their website, that’s all I can say.
