I’d forgotten that or did not know.
It created a chain if so many deaths: wars, hijacking’s, repressions. Perhaps even 911, it’s very likely a strong Iranian Ally of the USA (whic it was) would have either detected it or even stopped it.
The 1 thing I remember from the Ayatollah’s writings while in exile that were published in Playboy was that he said it was okay to have sex with an animal, but a sin to have sex with an animal and then kill it and eat it afterwards.

I was in Iran during the revolution and saw the havoc firsthand. The Shah was trying his best to Westernize Iran and promoting women into roles other than being homebodies. We now see how well that worked out with the return of the Ayatollah Khomeini.

Most of our problems started with the fall of the Shah. The rise of Islam and migration to the west where muslims have done what muslims do.
Khomeini took refuge in France for a bit ... as did Ho Chi Minh and other infamous notables, all of leftist bent.
Saddam Hussein’s Iraq also played sanctuary for him.

It is very likely the world will burn because of Carter. Iran will use the nukes as soon as they have enough to accomplish their goals. Carter put the monsters that will do so in place and destroyed a pro-western government. I am sure democrats are button busting proud.

The Shah tried to redistribute the land that belong to the clergy in Iran, to the people. This resulted in the clergy turned against the Shah. The Shah was trying to modernize his nation. I was told this by an Iranian student in the early 70’s. The Iranian student’s father controlled an entire village.
He told me at the time that the students sent to the US for higher education were intent upon learning what they could about nuclear engineering etc. Carter brought a large number of Iranians over to study in the US.
I still remember talking to the above student about Ezekiel 38 and how Iran would be allied with Russia to attack Israel in the future. He stated that Iran loved Israel and would never do that. We talked about Queen Esther and how the Shah was related to the Jewish Queen of Persia.
He did tell me that there were Shiite clergy in Iran, that were waiting on the Mahdi to come and conquer the world for Islam. Unfortunately when he earned his bachelors he went back to Iran to serve in the army. This was in 1976, before the Iranian Revolution, and the subsequent war against Iraq.
I have no idea whether he survived.
Iran spells another area where Carter was ignorant, misinformed and duped into backing the wrong policies.
