DEI programs weathered a myriad of attacks this year, with more to come in 2025

One by one, diversity, equity and inclusion programs at some of the country’s biggest companies fell apart in 2024, with signs that efforts to reverse DEI initiatives will only ramp up in 2025.

This year saw the rise in prominent figures like Elon Musk and Lululemon founder Chip Wilson, among others, who vocally pushed against DEI initiatives. Major companies, including Walmart, Lowe’s, Ford and Toyota, heeded the calls and dialed back their DEI programs.

But with President-elect Donald Trump and his administration vowing to wipe out federally funded diversity programs, the future of DEI is precarious.

Nika White, whose company specializes in DEI, said the field has had a challenging year.

“The rhetoric around banning DEI programs in corporate and academic settings, especially in the context of the broader political climate, often ignores the reality that such programs are designed not to ‘lower standards’ but to raise them by ensuring that everyone — regardless of background — has an equal opportunity to contribute and succeed,” she said. “These attacks are often rooted in anti-Black racism,” White said.

“Billionaire business owners wielding influence to curtail DEI initiatives often do so under the guise of ‘colorblindness’ or ‘meritocracy,’ arguing that DEI programs prioritize identity over skill. They undermine the progress made over the past few decades, creating a chilling effect that could further polarize our society, limiting the ability of organizations to have open, honest conversations about race, equity and inclusion — conversations that are critical in moving us forward as a nation.”

She added that demonizing DEI “fails to recognize the systemic barriers that many marginalized groups face in accessing opportunities and thriving in environments where they are not valued or represented.”

If 2025 will be the year DEI dies, as some hope, it seems it will take a herculean effort..

If it takes federal funding to do and can’t stand on its own, maybe it deserves to die.

A Litmus test for Trump is if he prosecutes companies for violating the H1B law. So far, none or a handful have ever been prosecuted.

Let's start impeaching judges that promote DEI...since it is the worst of pure politics..and that's not how the system is supposed to work.

Laws are made to protect the innocent...and what's more innocent than a 12 year old girl forced to shower with a tran.

NO maybe.

I think I’m a pretty open minded guy and this whole thing was INSANE.

I didn’t like Affirmative Action...for all I know, it kept me out of my first college of choice.

But ok, I always got good jobs, AA or no AA.

And honestly, all the higher paying areas of the investment banks I worked at were almost all white.

The printing rooms and mail rooms were mostly minorities.

I’m sure that’s changed a little in the past decade.

AA I didn’t like.

DEI needs to DIE and I HATE it..it’s an abomination...it teaches division and hatred.

Also, there’s 1000s of black sports athletes at this point who combined have made probably several hundred Billion dollars..and that’s great.

AND it’s enough money to set up a WHOLE LOT of minority kids with tuition grants and whatever else they need to get a leg up.

Dak Prescott doesn’t desesrve 240 million for 4 years but they paid it so good for him. Now USE it to help raise up more minorities...you know...the people the athletes say they care so much about all the time.

DEI....No. It’s not American at all.

The whole DEI thing is designed to destroy businesses as we all know.
Companies thrive when they hire the most qualified, Throwing a few round or square gears in does not make the clock work.

DEI = anti white male hate.

Any organization who engages in it is raw evil.

No excuses.

No exceptions.

Exactly — you beat me to it! “Myriad” means “a bunch of” so if you say “a myriad of” you’re really saying “a a bunch of of.”

..the reality that such programs are designed not to ‘lower standards’ but to raise them by ensuring that
everyone — regardless of background — has an equal opportunity..
to ruin an operation with their lack of merit.

The shills, earning 6 figure annual salaries, bemoan the halting of the gravy train.

“These attacks are often rooted in anti-Black racism,” White said.

Observe the old fall-back, the ace up-the-sleave, the gun in a knife fight. This canard of 'racism' will not die. It
still is designed to shut down all debate.

demonizing DEI “fails to recognize the systemic barriers that many marginalized groups face.."

Systemic barriers like debt/profit ratios? Let us not forget the antiquated business model that will eschew hiring
personnel that increases profit in favor of hiring the White goober who draws a paycheck for merely sitting on the
loading dock. That has been such a model for a successful business. /s

No, she has it 100% backwards and that's the problem. Equity programs are not about equal opportunity, they're about pushing lesser qualified people into positions ahead of more qualified people often based on anti-White racism.
