Costco’s board of directors adamantly urged shareholders to vote against efforts to limit the company’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) after receiving a proposal included in their annual notice to shareholders from the National Center for Public Policy Research to strike “discriminatory practices.”
The conservative think tank requested that Costco evaluate and publish a report on the risks of the company maintaining its current DEI roles, policies and goals amid a wave of corporations slashing all references to the organizational framework.

Was it the democrats threatening companies do the DEI crap or else ?
Yup—two can play at that game.
Ban Costco as a supplier of federal supplies—including contracts, sub contracts etc etc etc....
Red states could do the same at the state level.
We need to start playing hardball.
Eric Holder and his law firm in San Francisco is behind the DEI extortion.
Yes they make threats to tank a stock unless they do what they are told.
That’s fine. BJs is more convenient for us, anyway.
I was just checking into a Costco membership, because a friend of mine told they had Warsteiner beer there much cheaper than my liquor store.
I guess I’ll now wait until after January and see what they decide.
We shop there as little as possible, especially since they went full mask nazi during the fake pandemic. If they go down that road during the next one (scheduled to start right after Trump’s inauguration, according to Peter Hotez) we’ll quit them altogether.
Once you add in the membership fee, you probably won’t save any money on your favorite beer.
Although, your friend could take you in & purchase for you. Then you just pay them back. I’ve done that many times with friends, although I finally decided the membership fee wasn’t worth it & dropped it.
It has been shown in studies that the average Costco shopper spends $200 more a year at Costco than do average shoppers that use their local supermarkets. They buy more stuff than they really need, infected as they are with the thought that they should buy something because its a bargain. I often find a week’s supermarket sale prices make for prices below Costco’s.
no food stamp redemptions
DEI in a store that has all their hardwares and softwares made in China.
In other words, it’s the old Sharpton / Jackson grift updated to modern times.
Prosecutors could state that they will not prosecute white people if they loot a Costco....for DEI racial fairness.
IIRC, the head cheese of costco was a big supporter of whosane obama.
If enough people cancel their Costco memberships, they’ll drop DEI. Other boycotts (Bud, Target, etc) show that they work, but it means shopping elsewhere for a while.
I believe so, yes.
“They’re there every weekend.”
Yikes! Going there is so awful we have to psych ourselves for a couple of weeks before saying, “OK. We’re goin’ in.” Hate that place. But some of their product is very good, so we go and stock up. Maybe 3x/year.
Last week we discovered an even worse place. Buc-cee’s.
I gave up my Costco membership about 7 years ago. Go to Sam’s CLub now.
Suicidal advertising. Go ahead.
