Mammoth spending bill has clause that would let Congress block subpoenas for House data, "potentially preventing any investigation into the J6 Committee"

Benny Johnson

@bennyjohnson · Follow 🚨BREAKING: A new provision in the latest CR lets Congress block subpoenas for House data, including emails, potentially preventing any investigation into the J6 Committee.

If you haven't heard, Congress is trying to pass a ONE THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED PAGE omnibus bill. A typical tactic of politicians for decades has been to attach a whole bunch of hidden clauses into a massive-yet-critical spending bill that no one can physically read and process in its entirety.

Thanks to Elon Musk's X, there's a place for people to read the bill together and find things that are hidden (X's AI, Grok, will also be able to read and summarize these bills in the future).

Speaking of Elon, here is his reaction:

And some more:

VIDEOS AND TWEETS AT LINK....................

I should note that on Tuesday, we reported that a House committee recommended an investigation into Liz Cheney for allegedly colluding with witnesses in the J6 hearings.

House report says Liz Cheney should be investigated for witness tampering at J6 hearings Welp, I think I know who Biden is going to pardon next. NOTTHEBEE.COM https://notthebee.com/article/house-report-says-liz-cheney-should-be-investigated-for-witness-tampering-at-j6-hearings Incoming DOGE lord Vivek Ramaswamay said this about the bill:

The bill could have easily been under 20 pages. Instead, there are dozens of unrelated policy items crammed into the 1,547 pages of this bill. There's no legitimate reason for them to be voted on as a package deal by a lame-duck Congress.

The deadline for passing a bill to keep the government going is Friday.

(How about we just shut the whole thing down as a Christmas gift to America?)

How the hell is it a ‘continuing’ resolution if they are adding dozens, even hundreds, of new policy items?

Congress is out of control and they need to ALL be run out of government.

This is what I was mentioning in the previous thread, it prevents ANY prosecution of any member of congress for anything..so they all get away with it..Johnson is a douche bag, scratching the back of those who committed crimes against President Trump..this BILL NEEDS TO NEVER EVER EVER SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY

I would suggest a one page bill. Pass a continuing resolution to fund the government at present levels and no bills attached to the continuing resolution. The new Congress would then have time to put a bill together and give time for the public to see what the hell is in it.

SWAT team raids with authorization to fire should “trump” clauses in bills intended to shield criminal actions.

Most of what ends up in any particular “omnibus bill” is going to be rife with fraud and abuse.

Agreed. Even if it mean shutting down the FedGov.

Last time they shut down, most people barely noticed.

Nice to see the courts will be getting some new business to argue over with the inclusion of this language. I guess the critters want some thing close to presidential non disclosure rules. I guess we will see if this BS stands.

P.J. O’Rourke wrote “Parliament of Whores” 34 years ago, its subject was Congress. His observations are still valid today even more so than in the past.

O’Rourke was middle of the road libertarian. When young he was a leftist hippie. He was a funny man now sadly passed. Attached link is to wiki and a short bio of O’Rourke.

Why isn’t Trump, Vivek and Musk shouting to everyone that will listen to not pass this garbage? This is up for vote by Friday. Once it passes it doesn’t matter what DOGE does, as congress already robbed the bank. It’s not like DOGE can put the toothpaste back in the tube.
