Straphanger slugged by irate seatmate wrestles attacker to floor — but then fellow passengers helped HIM after he ‘turned into a little b—-h’

A straphanger was slugged in the face by an irate seatmate on a Manhattan-bound subway, but he managed to wrestle the “little b–ch” to the floor — but that’s when fellow passengers jumped in to help his attacker.

Alexander Rakitin, 42, was riding the N train to his Manhattan finance job Monday morning when he sat down next to 34-year-old Timothy Barbee.

As the train took off, the car jolted, causing Rakitin’s knee to jostle Barbee’s — which set the alleged assailant off.

“He was just very aggressive. I’m like, saying, ‘Dude, just chill, it’s like 8:30 in the morning. Like, who needs this s–t? Just chill.'”

Footage taken by another straphanger captured the two staring each other down, before Barbee yelled “It’s f–king done, stop staring at me” — and proceeded to tell the protesting Rakitin to “Make me chill” and “Shut the f–k up.”

Their verbal exchange quieted for a moment while they continued to stare each other down, before Barbee said, “I ain’t got time to go to jail today.”

Then he smacked Rakitin across the face — sending his glasses flying — before the camera cut out.

“I was able to wrestle him to the ground after that, and just kind of hold him,” Rakitin said. “And the craziest part was that — and this is literally upsetting, like I’m actually emotional about it — people on the train were trying to help him. Like, that was the most insane thing.

“It was also remarkable — he went from acting like such a thug. And then he turned into a little b—h right away. He’s like, ‘I can’t breathe. Please, let me go. Please, let me go. I can’t breathe. Somebody give me some water. I can’t breathe.’ And people started giving him water.

Another hard working New Yorker destined to spend a good amount of time at Rikers (or Attica) because he defended himself against a punk who was “of color”.

“I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.” Sounds like one of Georgy Floyd’s boyz.

The punk was the one charged. Nobody’s spending time at Riker’s, not the punk, not the honkey. NY is no-bail, and this was at most a misdemeanor. But it’s a funny story, especially the George Floyd impersonation.

I wonder if anti-Semitism was involved.

> “I can’t breathe, I can’t breathe.” <

I’m seeing some of that on YouTube police videos. Cop handcuffs a suspect while suspect is on the ground. Suspect screams “I can’t breathe!”

I guess it’s some sort of medical miracle. Suspect can’t breathe, yet yells nonstop.

I watch a lot of those cop shows and have noticed that even whitey has started with the “I can’t breathe” crap. They break bad at first and then they start whining like a bunch of little sissy men. It’s disgusting.

I am assuming placated white passengers helped the perp because if it had been fellow tribe mates they would have stomped the white victim to death.

In the 1960s I served a stretch with the Armed Forces Police
head quartered in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. I rode the subway
quite a bit around Brooklyn and lower Manhattan on our free
time. I enjoyed the sporting events as you could get in free if
you wore your uniform.

Yu could not get me on a NYC train with a gun to my head. Hell you couldn’t get me to a NYC sidewalk. Hell, NYC is an off limits hell hole.

Unlikely anyone would get stomped to death. This was more comical than anything else. He’s shouting “I can’t breath!”, so how does he shout. One thing about brothas, as Tyrus pointed re Smollet, they know a grift when they see it, and keep their distance.

In the 90's when dinkin was still mayor, I had a sales job that kept me in NY about 6 months a year so I had a permanent Suite at the then Sofitel and used the subway only when absolutely necessary.

Car service was my first choice but sometimes the traffic was so bad that trains were the only way to move in a timely matter.

I was always armed but still never felt comfortable on the NY subway {but Philly was worse}.

Hard to believe today, but the SF trains were the cleanest and safest, I'm not even sure that anyone uses the trains in SF today.
