There are thousands of migrant criminals roaming the streets of Gotham, the head of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s NYC field office told The Post.
“In New York City, it would take a lifetime to clear the city of the criminals that we have” if the status quo remains the same, Kenneth Genalo said Friday in his first interview since Donald Trump was elected president.
“We need additional resources,” insisted the 33-year ICE veteran who oversees nearly 400 staffers as regional director of the NYC-area office.
Genalo said immigration-law enforcement in NYC was all but thrown out the window when avowed Marxist Bill de Blasio became mayor. In 2014, de Blasio teamed up with the Council and signed a bill into law barring the NYPD from working with federal immigration officials when they’re seeking to boot dangerous migrants from the US.
Then, in 2018, he took it a step further by issuing citywide guidance and new NYPD protocols to codify the Big Apple’s policy of not cooperating with the feds.
More than 223,000 migrants have poured into the Big Apple since the immigration crisis began in the spring of 2022 — and at least 58,000 are still being cared for by taxpayers in city-funded shelters. ICE did not provide the exact number of criminals among them.

Citizens to NYC ICE director: start now!
You’ll have lifetime employment.
Where I worked we had a simple rule.
When we had a manager who insisted their job was “impossible” we fired them immediately.
Inevitably it turned out the job was totally doable—we just had the wrong person who failed to do it.
Put Rudy Guliani in charge. Those trash trucks with scoops they used in the movie “Soylent Green” are still in a back lot at Paramount.
Yer burnin’ daylight.
I say first remove all of the criminal illegals from red states, even red areas of blue states where its government will cooperate with ICE. Once they are totally cleaned up, do something about the cities that want those illegal criminals in their cities. I won’t go to these woke hell holes. People who care will leave them.
We don’t need more money or personnel to deport these illegal alien criminals, we just need to enforce the law in all areas and they will self-deport. The establishment of this country, like always, is lying to us.
Just as a thought — keep your eye on all court proceedings. If a defendant shows up accused of, let’s say, bank robbery, and they cannot provide evidence of legal presence in the US, then just skip that darn bank robbery trial. It doesn’t matter. They are here illegally. They are a criminal. Send them home within 24 hrs.
You don’t have to hunt these people down. They will present themselves to the criminal justice system.
Shouldnt the lifetime of an illegal crim I nal be pretty short?
Looks like 58,000 can be deported tomorrow!
Yeah, we know. That’s why you did it.
No more benefits to illegals. No more support for NYC,
Yup a lifetime. (And did you know you can’t drill your way out of an oil shortage?) The Left, always helpful with salient facts.
I remember listening to an interview with a 50-year-old guitarist who hadn’t started learning guitar until she was thirty.
She’d mentioned to a friend back then that she was thinking about learning the guitar, but thought it might be pointless. It’d take ten years to get any good, and by then she’d be forty.
The friend said if she didn’t study, in ten years she’d still be forty, and she’d still not be able to play the guitar.
If it does take a generation, and we never start, after a generation our cities will still be overrun with undocumented criminals.
The time will pass, no matter what we do. The question is what sort of future we will create.
Deny them benefits and they’ll leave on their own.
A lifetime for some of them.
That seems like a flawed plan. Flawed, as in, we've done that a million times and they keep coming back.
100% removal is not possible in the real world.....but we can come damn close.
Question is not “can” we deport most of the illegals, it is do we have the strength of will and determination to do it?
Our biggest hurdle is not actually deporting them, it’s defeating the traitorous acts of the democrats hindering us.

Good policy. From what I can tell, this Genalo fellow is a decent enough guy. But he needs to get his mind right.
If Nimitz and Eisenhower had his attitude, the western half of the country would be speaking Japanese and the eastern half would be speaking German.
