Harris admits to Telemundo: I'm for amnesty for illegal immigrants

Vice President Kamala Harris admitted during an interview with MSNBC that she wants mass amnesty for the millions of illegal immigrants who have come to the United States during the Biden-Harris administration.

Telemundo host Julio Vaqueiro grilled Harris on her plans for addressing the massive issue, a longtime weak spot for Democrats even before the border crisis started when Joe Biden became president.

"Right now, we're talking about border security, and there's nobody, no Democrat, talking about pathway to citizenship, immigration relief, benefits that migrants bring to this country," Vaqueiro said to Harris.

"I am. I am talking about it. ... There's no question that ... migrants bring — America is a country that was built in part by immigrants," Harris stammered.

When Vaqueiro brought up former President Donald Trump's plan to conduct mass deportations, Harris interjected that she is not proposing that.

"We need smart, humane immigration policy that includes a pathway to citizenship," Harris continued, adding a need for more "resources in terms of security" at the southern border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection finally released the data for the number of illegal immigrants encountered at the southern border for fiscal year 2024, which ended at the start of October.

U.S Border Patrol encountered over 1.5 million illegal immigrants in this recent fiscal year, a slight drop from 2 million in fiscal year 2023. The drop in encounters, while still historically high, is due to the Biden-Harris administration expanding the nation's parole program, typically used on a case-by-case basis, to thousands of people per day. This was an effort to reduce the number of illegal crossings in order to reduce the bad optics of people flooding the border even though the strength of their cases is very much in doubt.

Despite those efforts, illegal crossings in areas around Eagle Pass, Texas, are starting to pick up again as illegal immigrants want to enter the country before the presidential election.

She’d do more than that. She’d do it for all 30 million wetbacks who are here....not just the 10 million recent arrivals.

One of my problems with Harris is that she says will keep criminals from crossing the border.

She’s implicitly saying that the non-criminals can come in without restriction.

Even in her own terms, it's a lie.

Amnesty? They were brought here by the US government.

The problem with terms like “illegal” and “migrant” is that these are extremely broad terms.

There are many different groups under these labels.

Some should be expelled from the nation immediately. Others should be tolerated (if they are productive and have some argument for why they should be allowed). Finally, there are some that of little to no fault of their own slipped into such a status, sometimes in part because of changing US policies or post 9-11 events and the chaos which ensued.

Realize, it was Nixon that politicized the border in 69 (you basically only had a border on paper until then), like he did with marijuana, and since then you have had major changes with every new administration: Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush H., Clinton, Bush W., Obama, Trump, Biden. 10 times things have shifted around and along the way you have had people like those we slap with the DACA label today emerge (one subgroup of the illegal population).

Lumping millions of people together, that have various ways they came, why they over stayed or came illegally in the first place, from many different countries, at various points in time, some educated or not, some criminal but most not... is a huge disservice for these people and for the Republicans quite frankly.

1.) Many of these people are by values more conservative minded, i.e. LGBTQIA, feminism, and abortion are not cool for them. We are making the work for the liberal politician and MSM very easy, we are repulsing these people.

2.) We are over simplifying a complex issue that has many facets to it. This over simplification and generalization is both counter productive politically (potential voters) but also morally and economically (some of these people in the illegal status should be allowed to stay here).

IMHO-

But I would have to eat more than 12 bowls full of brussels sprouts over a day’s time to get my 1,700 minimum calories and that’s assuming I sit on my ass!

You will be sitting on the toilet in short order...............

Trump needs to ask kammy to explain why she wants to break the law. Handing out amnesty is a crime. Section 1324 title 8 says it’s a federal felony to encourage illegals to come here or live here. The kenyan broke that law with his DACA program and should be thrown in prison.
