Saudi Arabia pans Israeli plan to turn UNRWA’s Jerusalem HQ into apartments

Saudi Arabia condemns “in the strongest terms” Israel’s decision to turn the Jerusalem headquarters of the UN’s Palestinian refugee agency into apartments.

Last week, the Israel Land Authority said it was preparing plans to turn the Ma’alot Dafna complex into 1,440 housing units, after telling UNRWA it must evacuate the premises.

The Saudi Foreign Ministry notes in an English-language statement “the Kingdom’s rejection of the continued blatant Israeli violations of international laws and resolutions…and its systematic political and military targeting of the United Nations agencies and its relief organizations.

“The Kingdom also rejects the continued endangerment of the lives of relief workers, expressing its support for UNRWA in its humanitarian mission to provide relief to Palestinian refugees.”

Israel has long pushed for UNRWA’s closure, arguing that it helps perpetuate the conflict with the Palestinians, and has stepped up such efforts since Hamas’s Oct. 7, 2023, attacks.

Saudi Arabia has plenty of land to house their fellow Arabs, and Arab colonists have a right of return to Arabia.

I first read this as simply KSA trying to show solidarity with the Fakestinians. An attempt to keep the peasants from rising up, becoming violent, and possibly drawing the Saudis into a war.

But this is bigger than an eviction notice has being served. It is the fact that ISRAEL is dictating what will and will not happen is what really disturbs the Arab world. That Israel serving up fresh hot cups of STFU, showing strength, showing resolve, and showing results. Get used to it.

Israel has evicted this ostensibly named relief organization. The good news for these Angrystinians is that if they want to coexist in the peaceful world (play along) there some really nice apartments coming up for rent soon.

The United Nations has a long history - Brother Dave Hunt(RIP) noted that during the 1982 Lebanon War the IDF found a cache of weapons at a UN base. The number of weapons and types indicated they were for a planned Soviet invasion (Dave said sophisticated weapons that required specialized training)
