Regulations being considered by California air board could dramatically raise gas prices
KTLA ^ | 10/11/2024 | Austin Turner

The California Air Resources Board is set to vote on new regulations next month, and if passed, they could pass costs over to customers at the gas pump.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the plan would limit the carbon intensity in fuels by expanding a program instituted in 2011 that penalized refineries that create high-carbon fuel, like diesel and gasoline. New regulations would increase the penalties, thus increasing the price of production.

In September of last year, CARB estimated the regulations could raise gas prices by 47 cents per gallon, but analysts, according to The Times, say customers at the pump could be paying 65 cents more per gallon if the regulations go through.

...

The board will vote on the regulations just three days after the Nov. 5 general election.

The potential increase comes as Gov. Gavin Newsom has called for more controls on state gas refineries.

California is an enormous state which still has incredible potential and vast resources.Yet the residents pick morons to run it who in turn pick “boards” to regulate it to death. So basically at any one time California is run by literally a handful of corrupt fools. It’s disgusting.

If Governor dipstick and CARB truly believed in their mission, it would be a FELONY for ANY Public Employee to Use, Own or posess any type of ICE powered vehicle.

Gee wonder how much it would limit the carbon intensity if they removed all the car the illegals drive?.

CARB never thinks the KISS mode (keep it simple stupid).

Some after market items placed on cars reduce it but carb won’t allow it.
I had a 85 Blazer and went to a after market carburetor the smog test proved it was lower in emissions but the state won’t allow it.

Gas prices are already 2x higher than the rest of the country. I saw $2.99 a gallon last month in Texas - here in SF Bay area we pay $5.59 gallon for premium.

The sheeple here do not seem to care. They make good coin so this doesn’t really hit the average joe and this is just seen as the price of living here. Of course it really hurts the working class folks who have 2 jobs and can barely pay rent. But the bureaucrats in Sacto don’t care because these same folks keep voting for Dems.

Chevron is the last major to own refineries here and they will sell out soon, probably to the Chinese. That will be fun to watch as they don’t give a crap about environmental regs and Gavin has no leverage over Beijing.

Nothing will change as long as we have a one-party state.

California will drive all fuel production out of the state, then no domestic producer will sell them. California will be left to Korean and Indian suppliers who are immune to California laws and courts! Way to go California, economically shut down the whole state!

“...left to Korean and Indian suppliers who are immune to California laws and courts! Way to go California, economically shut down the whole state! “

This is the power play from the Regime. They do it in every country.

Their goal is to shut down domenstic production and make their countries depend on imports. The Administrative State has more power over imports than domestic production.

Also, domestic producers are an economic bloc and a constituency of employees and customers which is a dissenting group from the Regime.

In Europe we can see it with natural gas, now farming. They ban fracking, they close nuclear plants, then import coal.

They don’t care how much they wreck their countries and immiserate their populations as long as they retain and expand their political power.

Thank you for referencing that article BenLurkin.

"Regulations being considered by California air board [??? emphasis added] could dramatically raise gas prices"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Undoubtedly unthinkingly following in the footsteps of constitutionally undefined federal regulatory agencies, California's air board (CARB) is likewise illegal under California's constitution imo, not only no mention of CARB in Article IV, Section 1 of California's constitution (legislative), but CARB is also run by non-popularly elected bureaucrats who wrongly weaken the voting power of Californians imo.

"Article IV, California Constitution

Section 1

The legislative power of this State is vested in the California Legislature which consists of the Senate and Assembly, the people reserving to themselves the powers of initiative and referendum."

But an even more serious problem evidenced by CARB is that the very corrupt, post-17th Amendment ratification federal Congress is not doing its constitutionally enumerated duty to guarantee each state a republican form of government.

"Article IV, Section 4: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government [emphasis added], and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.""

So all Democratic and Republican Trump supporters in the nation need to come to the rescue of Californians being oppressed by their renegade state government by doing the following.

Trump supporters need to effectively "impeach and remove" worthless incumbent state and federal lawmakers on Election Day, replacing them with new, Constitution-respecting lawmakers, not only so that Trump will not be a lame duck president from the first day of his second term, the new Congress also supporting him to quickly finish drawing the swamp, including actually guaranteeing Californians their republican form of government.

Finally, let's not allow the anti-Trump media try to fade our memories of what we witnessed on July 13.

California went from being oil rich, to getting oil from Alaska, to importing oil from who knows where but along the way made living so expensive that they should be their own independent country just to save the rest of us from the huge wealth that they wield.

Can you guess where the gasololine for most of Nevada comes from?
Probably a lot of AZ is forced to use the same sources.
OR, WA?

So when KKK-Lafornia goes retard it is not just the locals who suffer.
Those of us who do not even have the pretense of representation there get nailed too.

The Anasazi supposedly left the area due to climate change about 1,000 years ago.

Current Californians are leaving to hold onto their pocketbooks.

We must eliminate all things that are made of carbon or emit carbon.

That is going to be quite expensive so... for now we will just tax it.

And... to do that we need a list.

Who’s got a pen and paper ?
