Hezbollah Wants a Ceasefire Now. Here’s Why Israel Shouldn’t Give Them One.

Ceasefire now? As much as Kamala Harris wants one and would capitalize upon one if it did materialize, the answer must be a firm no.

After exploding pagers and a series of carefully targeted Israeli airstrikes have completely decimated Hezbollah's senior leadership, the jihad terror organization now wants a ceasefire with Israel. This will come as music to the ears of the Biden-Harris regime, which would like nothing better than an October peace agreement between Israel and one of the major players that are arrayed against it.

The Harris campaign could wave this agreement in the air every time someone pointed out that the world during the Trump years was a much more peaceful place than it is now, and use it going into the election as evidence of Kamala Harris’ superior negotiating skills. But for a number of important reasons, Israel should resist all pressure from Washington.

So far, the pressure for the moment is coming not from Washington, but from Hezbollah itself. CNN reported Tuesday that Hezbollah Deputy Secretary General Naim Qassem, who is the highest-ranking official in the organization at the moment (after Israel took out longtime Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and several of his designated or potential successors) said, “We support the political efforts led by (Parliament Speaker Nabih) Berri under the banner of achieving a ceasefire. Once the ceasefire is firmly established and diplomacy can reach it, all other details will be discussed and decisions will be made collaboratively.”

Ceasefire! Diplomacy! Qassem knows how to push all the right buttons to get the U.S. State Department, the European Union, and the United Nations on his side, and even to shower billions upon his straitened organization. Kamala Harris has already sent $157 million to Lebanon, which means to Hezbollah.

Israel should begin a cease fire.

When every Hamas leader and soldier is dead.

And all the remaining hostages are accounted for.

Allowing Hamas and Hezbollah to survive this war intact guarantees another war. The next one will be worse.

A ceasefire with Hezbollah means they keep launching rockets and Israel doesn’t respond.

Tell them to pound sand.

If they don’t break them now they will not get a better chance.

Right. People learn what you teach them. A cease fire will teach Israel’s enemies that attacking Israel is not all that risky.

No cease fire will teach Israel’s enemies that attacking Israel is extremely risky.

I hope Netanyahu makes a very unambiguous statement that Israel intends to finish the job, which should be the destruction of Hezbollah as well as Hamas. There is no alternative for Israel to have any chance of ever having peace on these borders.

I doubt they will do it, but they need to clear out the Bekaa Valley. They aren’t going to get a better chance.

Israel needs to remove the rocket threat. Bibi should demand that that the Hez’s disarm. Turn over all 100,000 rockets.

Bibi could care less what Kammy wants - after all she skipped his speech and has been less than supportive of Israeli strategic moves. i imagine the Israeli priority now is how to punish Iran which would have effects on Hizbollah. the Israelis plan ahead so imagine they have a multi-step strategy - while Kammy and JoeyBoy are Johnny-One-Notes, e.g.the ceasefire mantra. they are 11/5 focussed unlike Israel.

Due to corruption, intimidation and inaction Hezbollah has become a defacto terror state that controls a significant portion of Lebanon.

They are better armed and motivated than the Lebanese government and Iran gives them the clout and funding to do as they wish

Iran has invested billions over the last 25 years arming and organizing Hezbollah to become a missile base and hostile army on Israel's border.

Hamas and Hezbollah broke the long standing status quo and committed unprovoked acts of terrorism, war crimes, genocide and war with a goal to destroy Israel Israel has finally taken the gloves off and is destroying Hamas and Hezbollah and decades i weapons stores and infrastructure laboriously built up over decades.

Israel has no choice but to move forward and complete the job of destroying Hamas and Hezbollah to the greatest degree possible.

They have both organizations on the ropes and are making great progress destroying the missile and weapons caches while Hezbollah is leaderless and unable to fight back in a cohesive fashion.

Much of the progress is due to decades of intelligence gathering and the most recent pager operation. It is safe to assume that the IDF has very detailed and accurate intel on the locations of Hezbollah missiles and weapons stores.

If the IDF does not press the advantages while they can, Hezbollah will have a chance to relocate their missiles and weapons to new locations and rebuild their infrastructure which will nullify years of Israeli preparations for just this time.

The world community will make sure Israel never gets another shot at taking down Hamas and Hezbollah

And frankly, Israel is seriously stretching it's military capabilities and depleting it's military reserves and political capitol. Israel cannot afford to let it's enemies escape and defeat is only one new leftist government away.

Netanyahu's legacy is going to have to be a decisive cleaning out the terrorist nests and fundamentally changing the political power structure in the Middle East.

With luck, Hamas and Hezbollah will be gone, Gaza will become an administered protectorate that rebuilds the Gaza in a more productive fashion than tunnels and missiles and Hezbollah will be de fanged and control of Lebanon restored to the Lebanese people instead of Iranian backed Islamic terrorist mercenaries.

I thought the reason was that you don’t give your enemy what it wants, or am I confused?

Ceasefires are just a ploy by terrorists to rearm and redeploy.

Dear Bibi, continue to kill all Hezbollah, Hamas, and take out Iran's growing nuke capabilities.

I don't give one damn what the US or UN thinks if there is collateral damage. You and most other pro-Israel know that those savage terrorist organizations teach their children from a young age in school... intolerance, hate, how to kill Infidels, and their sick religion.

Remember Bibi, the United States and its Allies devastated Dresden, Hamburg, and much of Berlin in WWII without consideration of collateral damage.

Oops, forgot Japan where America dropped two of the worst weapons ever created. Was there collateral damage in Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Of course there was.

Also Bibi, ignore the International Court of Justice (ICJ). The makeup is composed of Socialists/Communists that have a problem with Israel existing. Tell them to fuck off and dare them to intervene with force in your righteous extermination of your neighboring terrorists.

I Stand By Israel! Got problem? Bring it!
