Dennis Prager implored people to read his letter to Candace Owens regarding her remarks about Israel and Jews, stating that although he wishes the letter wasn’t necessary, the pundit has made many claims that must be addressed.
Prager, who was raised in an Orthodox Jewish home, is the host of "The Dennis Prager Show" and co-founder of PragerU, which promotes conservative viewpoints on various political issues. Owens hosted a podcast on PragerU from 2019 to 2021 before she began working for The Daily Wire (DW), a conservative news outlet.
The pundit has since launched her own podcast after her public departure from DW earlier this year following comments about Israel that many deemed antisemitic.
Owens accused Israel of committing genocide against Palestinians after the Jewish state responded to Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack. During an interview last year with Jewish comedian Ami Kozak, Owens also claimed Israel forces Muslims in Jerusalem to live in the city’s Muslim quarter, which she likened to Jim Crow policies.
Prager shared a letter on Sept. 30 responding to claims Owens has made about Israel and the Jewish people since launching her new show. He stated that he sent the letter to Owens on Sept. 4 to give her the opportunity to respond before it went public. While Owens confirmed that she received the letter, she did not reply, so Prager informed her of his plans to make it public.
“I wish I did not have to write this letter. But Candace has said many things that need to be answered,” Prager wrote. “The primary reasons I have not spoken out sooner are that I needed to become fully acquainted with all or nearly all the things she has said about Jews, Zionism, and Israel, make sure I quoted her accurately, and that I never did so out of context. That was time-consuming work.”
“I ask anyone who has been influenced by Candace with regard to Jews, Israel, and Zionism to make the effort to read this entire letter. If you care about truth, I believe you have a moral obligation to do so.”
The following pages list four things Prager told Owens in his letter.
“‘From about September 1942 to about December 1943, experiments were conducted at the Ravensbrück concentration camp for the benefit of the German Armed Forces, to study bone, muscle, and nerve regeneration, and bone transplantation from one person to another. In these experiments, subjects had their bones, muscles and nerves removed without anesthesia,” Prager wrote to Owens. “As a result of these operations, many victims suffered intense agony, mutilation, and permanent disability.’”
“Specifically, with regard to twins, ‘the experiments included amputating healthy limbs, deliberately infecting them with diseases such as typhus, blood transfusions from one twin to the other, and sewing twins together to create conjoined twins.' Is that 'bizarre propaganda’"?
Prager quoted Owens as claiming, "The nation of Israel was established by some Frankists," a term used to claim that the founders were "masquerading as Jews."
It was in reference to Jacob Frank, an 18th century Polish Jew who claimed to be a messiah.
“For two thousand years, as part of daily ritual prayers, Jews prayed three times a day to be able to return to their homeland, Israel,” Dennis Prager wrote in response.
“That, plus the world witnessing what happens when Jews have no homeland — centuries of pogroms, massacres, and expulsions (which inspired Theodor Herzl to organize the Jews’ return to Israel — ‘Zionism’ — in the late 19th century) culminating in the Holocaust — is what led to the reestablishment of the Jewish state.”
“That Herzl came from the same general region as did Jacob Frank, who predated Herzl by about 150 years — a region with millions of Jews who were not Frankists — and therefore must have been a Frankist, seems like a pretty big leap,” he added.
Prager quoted Owens as claiming that modern Israelis engage in the kidnapping and killing of non-Jewish children, alleging that modern Israel still does these things.
Prager accused Owens of saying that "Israel was founded to be a haven for pedophiles."
“There were millions of Jews scattered around that part of eastern Europe in Herzl’s time," wrote Prager in response. "How do you connect him to the Frankist cult, which at best was a tiny minority — and then assert that his advocacy of a homeland for Jews in their ancient homeland resulted in a state founded by people devoted to a satanic cult involved in incest and ritual sex with children?”
“Such a defamatory allegation should be presented with very strong evidence. ‘May have been’ doesn’t qualify as such.”
Prager accused Owens of recently devoting “nearly two hours" of her program "depicting Zionism, once again, as an evil movement. It is completely fair to say that you are an anti-Zionist.”
Prager said Zionism is a movement to reestablish a homeland for the Jewish people in the Land of Israel, an effort that anti-Zionists oppose. The PragerU co-founder noted that the world has over 200 countries, but anti-Zionists only appear to take issue with the one Jewish country.
Anti-Zionists are not called antisemitic because they criticize Israel, as Prager asserted, but because the only country they “delegitimize is Israel.”
“Why don’t anti-Zionists devote their energy to delegitimizing Pakistan? There was an Israel from 1020 BC to 586 BC and from 516 BC to 70 AD, but there was never a Pakistan until it was created in 1947-48 (the same year Israel was reestablished). Pakistan was wrenched from India to create a Muslim state,” Prager wrote.
The conservative commentator also noted that the number of deaths resulting from the creation of Pakistan is 1 million compared to the 10,000 Arab deaths during the 1948 war.
“In addition, according to the Indian government, at least 86,000 women were raped. Most historians believe the true number to be far higher," he added. "The number of women raped when Israel was established is close to zero. The highest estimate was 12.”
As usual with Owens, I don’t think she believes a word of what she says. It’s all a grift. Just as she laughed with Joe Rogan just 2-3 yrs ago about people who “actually believe” in the Resurrection of Christ, and then suddenly started posting “Christ is King” after she started being criticized by former (Jewish) boss Ben Shapiro. Candace got her start being buddies with the NAACP. Anyone who listens to her is a fool.
Owens is constantly embarrassing herself and has an overweening notion of her own intelligence.
She seems more interested in being a provocative political entertainer (if not propagandist) than a thoughtful political commentator.
““Why don’t anti-Zionists devote their energy to delegitimizing Pakistan?”
Because Pakistan doesn’t control the weather, nor does it drive them absolutely mad from mindless, blind rage.
Like Dennis Prager very much. He is a thoughtful intellectual on the radio. When Rush Limbaugh was in a commercial break or maybe had a sub host on, I would listen to Dennis a lot. But I like Candace too. Don’t like everything she says but people are complicated and are often on a journey of change. Under the influence of her husband she has converted to Catholicism and she believes. I think she does research and don’t find her argumentation nearly as specious as some here do. Tired of some conservatives attitude of: You must not criticize Israel. Whatever they do isn’t to be questioned.
What happened to them last October 7 was horrible but they are not without their own sins.
still waiting for Prager’s apology to the late, great Bob Grant (RIP) ...
her latest is pursuing Kamal’s descent. She turned up some interesting things, but whay did she even start? Because Kamla “messed” with Janet Jackson, apparently, and to quote “nobody messes with Janet Jackson”.
Right there, she plunged into loonville. No credibility.
RE: still waiting for Prager’s apology to the late, great Bob Grant (RIP) ...
Can you remind us why Prager owes Bob Grant an apology?
Owens has seemed on several occasions now to have a ‘problem’ with other women, all apart from politics.
There are women like that; they’re unpleasant, and healthy women stay away from them.
But I think her main problem is a mania for creating attention-getting controversy and ‘making waves’.
No matter how they are educated or how they were brought up, the majority of them will side with their race, not ideology. Owens is headed that direction.
Sure, Israel can be questioned. However, they have been under attack since 1948 when they got their little sliver of land. I stand by Israel!
The good news is we can still love the nation of Israel while hating pedophilia.
How is this possible? Simple—the two are not the same.
She’s gone against Black women, too, including Kimberly Klacik. (Klacik is running again now, so I wouldn’t put it past Owens to criticize her again.)
I think Owens just resents and harbors a lot of jealousy toward other females, especially those who gain some position in politics.
Meanwhile, why are posters either telling others not to pay attention to Candace Owens or otherwise assassinating her character?
Censorship and character assassination for its own sake are two of the most thoughtless things we can do (which is part of my reasoning for believing the cabal is low IQ).
What she says is wrong but has the right to say it. We agree on 90% which is a good starting point.
Why are you just accepting what Dennis Prager writes in his letter?
He gets to quote or paraphrase what Candace said without her being able to defend herself or explain what she actually meant.
Like the Adele song “Rumor Has It”. More profound words on this subject were never spoken.
“Just ‘cause I said it, it don’t mean that I meant it
People say crazy things
Just ‘cause I said it, don’t mean that I meant it
Just ‘cause you heard it”
Meaning that regardless of what I said, you can’t know what I really think/meant.
GREAT SONG!

Owens can defend herself any time she wants. She has a platform, just as Prager does.
“nobody messes with Janet Jackson”.
They’ll punish her at some point. Trump, Eric Adams, have you noticed how they make the live of those with prominent voices who challenge them into living Hells?
