The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is warning the public to be wary of misinformation surrounding Hurricane Helene and the federal government’s response, launching a “rumor response” page.
On the newly-formed page, the agency asks the public to find and share information from trusted sources, and discourage others from sharing information from unverified sources. It also seeks to dispel rumors as the search for storm victims continues across multiple states and authorities contend with blocked roads and power outages.
Among the misinformation FEMA highlights is a claim that the agency does not have enough money to provide disaster assistance.
The agency said it does.
Another claim says that FEMA was asking for cash donations and turning away volunteers. The agency said the claim was false.

So they don’t have the money for rescue and relief, but they have money for this?
They have money for the propaganda campaign and for taking care of the illegal invaders. Hurricane victim....file a claim and you may get $750 in a few months.
For half a second, I saw the headline and thought it said
‘humor response’ page. I couldn’t quite picture online users
‘giggling’ about Helene. Of course, many Democrats seemed to cheer what they saw as a Red State disaster.
Ooooooh! We have NO money...FOR YOU, US Citizens! These traitors are too much!
The agency only has enough money to respond to the current disaster because a special funding bill was passed. (not sure of the exact details but without that approval FEMA would have been out of money) They do not have enough money for any other disasters that may happen this year.
Mayorkas himself said it on camera!
FEMA states without evidence
They should be on the ground and not wasting time on this. You want to improve your reputation work for the citizens in need, not your false image.

Just received this note from a SpaceX engineer helping on the ground in North Carolina.
@FEMA
is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!
GO TO NASCAR.com & we what THOSE people are doing for the victims.
MUCH MORE THAN FEMA IS DOING.
MOST TEAMS have their own helicopters & pilots.
They are using such to fly supplies into the more remote areas. AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE.
TONS OF SUPPLIES HAVE BEEN DONATED by NASCAR TEAMS & FANS.
MUCH MORE COORDINATED THAN THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT
When you have teams of 37 cars that can run successful 500 mile races all around the country as tracks allow-—
THEY CAN ORGANIZE THIS MUCH BETTER THAN MAYORKAS.
Who even bothers to look at the page when we don’t believe what the government spokesliars print?
Except that the current people in charge aren’t as adept at building walls.
Gee, I wonder where FEMA found the money for this?
I haven’t seen the latest HERE from Babylon Bee. Funny, heard on WMAL, Chris Plante.
FEMA a government agency must be true huh Moe.
Could you imagine the outrage if FEMA had done this during the Bush-Katrina situation?
