Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz tried again Wednesday to explain his repeated false statement that he was in China during the Tiananmen Square protests in 1989 — telling reporters in Pennsylvania that he “got his dates wrong” and suggesting he makes verbal mistakes “like everybody else.”
Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, was questioned during Tuesday night’s debate over a report that indicated that he was not in Hong Kong like he repeatedly previously claimed — but was actually back home in Nebraska.
“Look, I have my dates wrong. I was in Hong Kong and China in 1989,” Walz said Wednesday. “You’ve seen me. These teachers see me. I speak like everybody else speaks,” he added. “I need to be clearer. I will tell you that.”

I think Walz is trying to appeal to the knucklehead vote. After all, there are lots and lots of knuckleheads out there.
No kid ever said “I want to grow up to be a crooked politician”, and yet there he is.

The thing is he did not even come close to answering the question. He rambled for a long time about nonsense, and did not answer.
The moderator actually surprisingly did then say “you didn’t answer the question.”
He then admitted he lied.
But then immediately lied about it in the last thing he said, that he was there during the democracy protests when he wasn’t.
Here’s the details. All through May millions of Chinese citizens demonstrated peacefully in Beijing calling for more freedom and democratic reform.
June 3 and 4 Chicom government sent in the army who massacred civilians.
Walz said for decades he was in China that May during the demonstrations (but not in Beijing).
But it was just shown he was in the US on May 16 and didn’t go until August.
So after admitting he got his dates wrong he still said he was there during the protests. When he obviously wasn’t.

Very true. We don’t need another lying knucklehead in Washington D C. We’re overstocked on them there.
I don’t know if he’s scary enough to be Kamala’s “Impeachment Insurance,” but he might be close.
His list of public lies gets longer every day.

Actually this version of Tim is refreshing to me. Yeah he is a buffoon but at least once he was able to fess up. That is more than can be said about many other dems.

For example I can remember where I was when Tiananmen Square happened. I can also tell you where I was when the Gulf War started and where I was when the Iran Contra hearings were happening. I was at my grandmother's.
I can not tell you where I was when Nixon resigned because I was rather young and was still hitting the bottle at that point in my life. :) But I can tell you where I was when Reagan was shot.
