Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz stunned watchers of Tuesday night’s vice presidential debate as he nervously fidgeted, frowned and even called himself a “knucklehead” — while his Republican counterpart, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, gave a steady and lawyerly presentation and was widely seen as the victor.
*** Walz still seemed nervous an hour later, declaring “I’ve become friends with school shooters” — when he seemed to mean victims — ***

The Democrat stumbled again, in what will be the most replayed moment of the debate, when he was asked about fresh reporting that he lied about having been in Hong Kong during the Tiananmen Square massacre in the spring of 1989.
“Look, I will be the first to tell you I have poured my heart into my community,” Walz said in a rambling initial response. “I’ve tried to do the best I can, but I’ve not been perfect, and I’m a knucklehead at times, but it’s always been about that those same people elected me to Congress for 12 years.”
*** “Dems are fortunate presidential debates tend to matter a lot more than VP debates,” wrote Dave Wasserman, senior editor and elections analyst at the nonpartisan Cook Political Report.
“Walz looks rusty and nervous. Maybe he should have done some press interviews to better prepare,” tweeted Washington Post columnist Josh Rogin — noting the relative sparsity of Walz’s media engagements. *** Veteran political commentator Chris Cillizza, formerly of CNN and MSNBC, wrote toward the end: “Vance is winning the debate. He is clearly the best debater of the 4 candidates running for president or vice president. His abortion answer/pivot was masterful. Walz has been fine — but uneven. His answer on the lie that he was in China during Tiananmen Square was AWFUL.”

He also said there is a problem with imprisoning opponents.
Nope, we want the blue-eyed predator with brains.

Trump made an excellent pick for the VP position.
He went with ‘talent’ instead of picking a Haley type or some other squish.
Marshall Applewhite.
It’s Smart and Smarter versus Dumb and Dumber.
“don’t much like Trump’s demeanor either.”
“Trump is “too old””
There is a word for people like this: Liars.
Or fools, I guess.
Ether way, they are not friendlies.
I think you could have found a better way to say that. Like the country will be in good hands in 2028 when the Democrats are forced to go up against Vance as the Republican nominee, following Trump's game-changing final four years in office.
I would say they are wishy washy people who believe most anything someone else tells them. Closer to fools than liars themselves, but easily believe liars.
"IF"???
It's 'when' not 'if' the Democrats assassinate Trump... One of their lunes will eventually outsmart the Secret Service. Trump is a people person, and while that makes him popular, it will eventually cause his downfall. One lunatic, with one weapon in the right spot and J.D. will be taking the oath of office.
The Democrats and the media will take no responsibility, but Trump's blood will be on their hands.
Agreed, Vance was quite well prepared, and that speaks well of him.
I do, however, wish that he had brought up the many trips that Walz has made to Red China, and asked him to explain why he visited the country most hostile to the United States so many times. It would also be interesting to know how he could afford to make that trip so many times on the salary of a teacher. That was a missed opportunity. It would also be interesting for Walz to explain how he could legally have made that trip while a member of the National Guard.
JD can adVance the principals of the founders of this great republic.
Well, at least they’d have new sneakers.
The funniest thing is that he answered the question. Props to Brennan for following up, but Walz was too dumb to realize he could have just blathered about something else and never addressed the issue. But he did so, and came off like a …. Knucklehead.
You and Jerod need to watch what you say on a public forum.
Words spoken have consequences.
No matter who says them.
Especially when they are repeated over and over again. Like a mantra.

Given his residence in Minnesocold, he should have used the word, "Knucklehead".
Not "You and Jerod".
he is actually a ‘pathological lying knucklehead’!
Supposedly, Walz had a Command Master Sergeant “challenge coin” struck, even though he never obtained the rank.
Wouldn’t it have been great if JD Vance had pulled out 3 of the coins and told the crowd that vets, outraged by Walz’ stolen valor, were sending them to the Trump-Vance campaign?
“Because everyone wants a “knucklehead” to be one heartbeat away from the presidency...”
That would be a vast improvement over what we’re stuck with now. At least he admits somewhat that he sucks.
