A top lawyer has hit back after being accused of racism for refusing to participate in an Acknowledgement to Country procedure at the Victorian Bar Council.
At meetings of the Victorian Bar Council, the president Georgina Schoff precedes matters with an acknowledgement of the Aboriginal group associated with the land on which it is held...
'The reason why I decided to acknowledge all Australians that day is because I'd had enough of this implicit ceding of sovereignty before every meeting, before every Zoom meeting, before every time we land on a Qantas flight,' Ms Collaris said.
She said the implication of the welcome messages was that non-Aboriginal people are of a lesser status, and to say so was at odds with the law she had sworn to uphold.
'It's the constant repetition of this message that's being given to us, that sovereignty does not exist within the Crown in some way, and that's what I've got an issue with.
'It's wrong in law and it's wrong in fact...For as long as people continue to make political statements by way of acknowledgments of country, I will continue to acknowledge all Australians, signalling my support for an Australia where we are all equal and subject to the same laws regardless of our race.'

“where we are all equal and subject to the same laws regardless of our race.”
To not be racist in today’s world, you have to prove it constantly through reverse racism.
Oh you're being "sensitive" are you? Where's your sensitivity to all the other people who have owned and/or do own that land now? How come we are supposed to only cite previous owners? Does this include all previous owners? No doubt the group who owned it 200 years ago previously pushed some other group off of that piece of land at some point in the past. That is the history of the world. Welcome to the human race. So you can spare me any demands that I recite your political dogma.
Its not "reverse" racism. Its just the same ole racism it always was. The only difference is they've changed the groups being targeted by it.
Good for her!
> No doubt the group who owned it 200 years ago previously pushed some other group off of that piece of land at some point in the past. <
Exactly right. As you noted, that’s the history of the world. But only white folks are seen as conquers today. Everyone else was peaceful and fun-loving.
There was a cartoon movie out awhile back that showed the Aztecs as, well, peaceful and fun-loving.
I guess it’s not taught anymore. But in truth the Aztecs were monsters. There was a reason other tribes allied with Cortez against the Aztecs. It was because the Aztecs were monsters.
Or just tell the virtue signalers and reverse racists to F off, and laugh at their absurd comments.
Its not “reverse” racism. Its just the same ole racism it always was. The only difference is they’ve REVERSED (changed) the groups being targeted by it.
There, I fixed it for you. Now it’s reverse racism!

She is right. Australia belongs to the Crown by right of conquest.
Bless her indeed.
Yep, either racism is wrong or it’s not. If it is, then it’s wrong for everyone, and not OK for a select few based on their self-perceived victimhood.

The "issue" is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.
Racism is just another "issue" the Left has used to advance their desired destruction of Western Civilization.
When criticism of racism works to advance the destruction, they are all against racism. When racism works to advance the destruction, they are happy racists.
I visited Australia and I loved it, generally.
But, you cannot escape the “an acknowledgement of the Aboriginal group” or something like that, everywhere, on flights, places, meetings. You hear it ten times a day or more, every day...
It really gets to you, it is just super annoying.
I am not sure, why Australians do not rebel en masse!
They are the most passive people I have met
“by right of conquest”? say...how come the crown can get away with colonialism in Australia and not be called on it but we can’t? is it because we kicked the bastards out of these United States of America?
Visiting Boston From CA on a history tour with a friend. I began our first day with a land remembrance. I acknowledged that the land where the hotel stands was a Dairy Queen for 20 years. Unfortunately that’s as far back as I was able to trace
Fierce as could be in the world wars. Now cuck nation
It’s always about obedience to the State. You have to set the pattern.
Most Aussie men are half-drunk by noon.
