Kremlin: White House already decided to let Ukraine hit Russian targets with long-range missiles

The Biden administration has already decided to allow Ukraine to use U.S.-provided weapons to strike targets deep within Russian territory and any hesitancy is merely political camouflage, a Kremlin spokesman said Thursday.

The White House is close to an agreement to provide Ukraine with the AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile that could “significantly alter” the ongoing conflict with Russia, according to Reuters. It has a range of about 230 miles, or more than 570 miles if Kyiv receives the extended-range version.

The JASSM can be launched from an F-16 Fighting Falcon, which the U.S. and other NATO allies are in the process of providing to Ukraine.

Ukraine does not need our permission to fight back against an invader. We don’t “let” them do anything.

I’m no Putin fan, but he rightfully doesn’t want NATO next door, and was assured that would never happen.

Ukraine was precluded from joining NATO as long as Russia held Crimea and Donbas. Additionally, Zelensky offered Ukrainian neutrality with no NATO but Putin rejected it because his real goal was Donbas, not a fear of NATO. Putin has even acknowledge that this is his primary goal. Even now I am sure Ukraine would accept no NATO in exchange for Russian withdrawal.

Then there’s the Nazi involvement. Actual, real Nazis in Ukraine that we are now somehow on the same side.

Let's be real. There are no real Nazis in Ukraine. No one is advocating the racist and expansionist ideology of the Nazis. A limited number of small groups have been waving Nazi flags to identify with the resistance against the Soviets in WWII. In a similar vein many Southerns fly the Confederate flag as a symbol of regional pride. They are not advocating slavery or secession from the Union. Do not exaggerate the significance of these small groups. The only one who is advocating one ethnic group should dominate another is Putin and his allies. For Putin "Nazi" is any Ukrainian that supports an independent Ukraine against Russian domination. It is this very attitude that drove many Ukrainians to collaborate with Germany in WWII.

The Donetsk and Luhansk regions were being attacked by Ukraine Nazis and they voted to join Russia. Should they not be allowed to choose their destiny?

Rather, government forces entered the Ukrainian provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk to restore order after Russian surrogates had seized the territories. Please do not cite the bogus referenda conducted under Russian military control and without free public debate or campaigning. And finally, Donetsk and Luhansk did not "choose their destiny" when they were seized by surrogate Russian militias.

Taking the Biden side without deep questioning seems a bit short sighted, at least to me. We know the left is utterly dishonest and completely untrustworthy, but we should just go along with them in this?

Those who support Ukraine are not taking Biden's side; we are taking Ukraine's side. Remember that the first reaction of Biden was to offer Zelensky a flight out of Ukraine, not urge him to resist. Afterwards, if anything, he has repeatedly hesitated to give Ukraine the means that it needs to defend itself.

You claim not to be a Putin fan. Then do not swallow his rationalizations for attacking Ukraine.

You have left out a few details:
  1. Yanukovych was not removed by a U.S. led coup but by the democratically elected parliament after the populace rosed up because he reneged on the EU/Ukrainian economic agreement that he had previously supported and had tried to yoke Ukraine to Russia.
  2. Even if there had be the western coup that you allege, this would still not have justified the Russian invasion. That would have been something for the Ukrainians to work out themselves.
  3. Ukraine was not attacking Russian heritage civilians but was trying to restore order in two Ukrainian provinces that had be seized by Russia through surrogate ethnic Russian militias.
  4. There was no final peace deal to sign. The demands that Russia was making made it highly unlikely that Ukraine would ever have agreed to them even without western advice. They would have amounted to complete Ukrainian surrender.

Listen to Eric Weinstein talk about the "powers that be" who control the U.S. and the West.

They've decided we Americans can't be trusted to decide our own destiny.

Whew, what a load of crap ... you seem to think it's pretty cut-and-dry-yourself, with the many Russiian lies there in your response

and was assured that [NATO expansion] would never happen

LIE - that promise was never made, but the Russian propagandists sure like to repeat it

The Donetsk and Luhansk regions were being attacked by Ukraine Nazis

More Russian lies

Yes, let's end the killing, which was STARTED BY PUTIN ... why do you never criticize him??

Jets are aluminum balloons filled with jet fuel, and/or jet fuel/air mixtures. Poking a hole in one with a small bit of steel is a problem. Minimally, some serious maintenance will be requited to assess their airworthiness. A spark, and it’s “Good night, nurse.”
