REVEALED: Georgia school shooter Colt Gray was 'bullied for being gay'
Daily Mail UK ^ | September 6, 2024 | Emma James

Georgia school shooter Colt Gray was bullied by classmates who called him gay, his father told detectives in an interview last year.

Colin Grey, 54, made the claims when he was interviewed by the Jackson County Sheriff's office after the FBI received a tip that his son had threatened a shooting at his middle school.

'It was very difficult for him to go to school and not get picked on,' Colin Gray told an investigator, according to a transcript of the conversation obtained by DailyMail.com.

The father added: 'It went from one thing to another... I was trying to get him on the golf team... [they were like], "Oh, look, Colt's gay. He's dating that guy."

'Just ridiculed him day after day after day.'

Gray, 14, is charged as an adult in the deaths of Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, both 14, Richard Aspinwall, 39, and Cristina Irimie, 53. Nine people were also hurt in Wednesday’s attack at Apalachee High school in Winder, outside of Atlanta.

HAng the little bitch.

Or will he claim insanity due to sexual persecution?

Nothing justifies what the father and this little prick did.

There’s no excuse for what the kid did period. He’s a sick POS who should have put a bullet in his own head.

Yes, and Middle School is the worst time as the child begins developing an individual identity.

Group conformity is strongest at this age.

Even his father said that he had been “bullied” at his previous school. So, obviously, what is important here is that he murdered four people at this school that never “bullied” him. He had no reason to kill them.

I do a lot of work and research in developmental psychological stages to determine the influencing factors upon personality. The greatest influencing factors are the strength of the parent’s relationship and the bond between mother and child.

What the chart shows are the various esteem issues that develop and hinder the development of a healthy self identity.

There is always an excuse.

Finding and understanding the perceptual programming events that influence personality development of the child is most important.

People are inherently good. The nature vs nurture question is far more complex than most realize.

Since the soul is eternal, much of what people call nature was just previous nurture.

“what is important here is that he murdered four people at this school that never ‘bullied’ him.”

Do you know that for sure?

I’m just going by what I read that his father had told the police. He told them that his son had been “bullied” by the people at the previous school he had attended. He never accused the people at this school of “bullying” him.

Have you researched the correlation between bullies and their parents’ (or a parent’s) propensity to be bullies themselves?

Right. I haven’t been paying too much attention to this — too much other stuff going on in my life.

I figure there’s about a 75% chance he was being bullied at the new school. Some kids seem to have a neon, “bully me”, sign on their foreheads. It’s a shame. There always have been bullies, but it seems so much worse now.

(After five years, I ended my victim status of being bullied in sixth grade when I took my crutch and just about sent Bruce across the room. He was stunned; I was so shy.)

That’s the way to stop “bullying”. You’ve got to push back immediately and sometimes even make it hurt. That was the technique I always used. Most “bullies” are cowards, IMHO. If you shut them up immediately, they’ll go find somebody else.

I’m sure coloring his hair that yellow/orange color didn’t help. I had a feeling he was trans or gay when I saw his picture. The father is an idiot and he belongs in prison. He knew his son made threats to shoot up a school and he still bought him the gun. I’m all for teaching your kids to shoot and hunt but you better have your guns secured, especially if you have a kid like this one. I wonder why the father of Croaks wasn’t arrested like this guy?

I don't think so. I think homosexuals are more likely to be attracted to straight men, and want to "convert" them.

A homosexual tried to recruit me once. I didn't respond, of course, since I'm straighter than the pole his mama danced around.

Trust me, if he’s gay, he will be teased.

How strange, I teach at an East Texas High School and none of the students particularly care about other kids orientation.

You’re more likely to be picked on for being a natural redhead.

Yes. The personality is created by an insecure sense of self and an insecure bond with parent.

Bottom line it results from an insecure bond, usually stemming from a perceived lack of Love.

I say “perceived,” as the resulting personality is based upon the limited perception of the developing child, not necessarily reality.

For example, the jealousy developed by an older child when a sibling is born and the mother is forced to give her attention to cating for the newborn.

The older child, especially if they have not gone through the “terrible two’s” stage where the child creates separation in the bond with their mother, feels abandoned and often rejected by the mother. This creates an insecurity of not trusting Love throughout their life. I have also found this perceptual programming event in men who feel the need to cheat in every relationship due to a fear of secure intimacy, as if they allow intimacy they might get hurt again. They don’t trust Love.

Bowlby and Ainsworth’s research in attachment and bonding is far more important than most psychologists understand.

I think the bullies here F’d around too long and Found out what can happen. Perhaps those teachers were approached for help and did nothing. Maybe not. More will come out.

And riddle me this. Cork is being tried as an adult. So why arrest the father? If you're trying the kid as an adult, then the state is saying that the kid is fully responsible for his own actions. If they are trying the father for his responsibility or lack thereof over the kid, then the kid isn't fully responsible and can't be tried as an adult. It is legal in GA to give your kid a rifle.

I don't really care what happens to either, but it's more a question of the legal particulars here.

What happens if someone gives his 16 y.o. licensed son the keys to the car and the kid purposely drives over a bunch of protesters? Do you still try the kid as an adult? And the father for giving him the keys?

“GAY AND DATING AT 14???? WHAT KIND OF PARENTS LET A KID DO THIS?”

Girl where you been? There are kids much younger coming out as gay. I know I’ve posted about it because the kids that said they were? There was no way they even knew what that was, they were too young.
