Former GOP senator says he won’t vote for Trump or Harris

Former Sen. Pat Toomey (R), who represented the key state of Pennsylvania for 12 years in the Senate, says he won’t vote for former President Trump or Vice President Harris in November’s election.

Toomey noted during an interview on CNBC that he voted for Trump in 2016 and 2020 but can’t bring himself to support Trump again because of his efforts to overturn the results of the last presidential election.

“When you lose an election and you try to overturn the results so that you can stay in power, you lose me. You lose me at that point,” Toomey said during a contentious back-and-forth exchange with “Squawk Box” host Joe Kernen.

Toomey acknowledged he doesn’t support Harris, the Democratic nominee, and views many of her policies as economically disastrous.

Toomey, who retired from the Senate at the end of 2022, was one of seven Senate Republicans who voted to convict Trump at his second impeachment trial on the charge of inciting an insurrection against the United States.

What’s with these senators from Pennsylvania?

Can’t they just cast a simple vote?

I remember the cross dresser Arlen Specter invoking Scottish law at Bubba’s impeachment by voting not proven.

Toomey cozied up with Obama on gun control immediately after Pat got elected. He consistently ignored his constituents and voted for the Left side of most issues.

I remember when we thought Toomey was a welcome change after Arlen “Not Proven” Specter. He’s seems to have made his mission to disprove that again and again.

So true.

The man was part of the Uniparty.

He still sees those storming the castle being at fault and those poor innocent victims inside were just looking to maintain their control over those unruly masses.

How upsetting, you should know your place.

Seems like a loser to me, too. Maybe if he actually checked some facts about the last presidential election, he might feel differently. I’m just an ordinary retired citizen, but there seemed to be some things about the last election that didn’t exactly ring true to me.
