🎄Blessed Christmas Wishes to All!🎄
Awww, oo bad, those are gorgeous animals
I didn’t know that felines could get bird flu
LOL, that’s as good an explanation as anything!
Happy Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you as well. It is good to see you, dear Pax.
So cute, the kitty mimics eating so well!
We are going to attend the inauguration of our beloved Donald John Trump. We’re staying out in Alexandria and taking the yellow line into DC at around 8:30 am on the 20th. Our stop is the end of the line, so atleast we can get a seat. Going there….I’m so excited and have never been to such a big and historic event!
“I didn’t know that felines could get bird flu”
A cat in Portland Oregon died from it also. Seems it is in the frozen food.
“A Portland-based pet food company issued a nationwide voluntary recall after a house cat in Oregon died from eating one of its products, which tested positive for bird flu.”
“Northwest Naturals, owned by Morasch Meats, announced the recall Tuesday for one batch of its 2-pound Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food after the product tested positive for the highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus, also known as H5N1 bird flu, according to a news release.”
“The batch with the virus was sold across the United States through distributors in Washington, Arizona, Rhode Island, Georgia, Maryland and several other states, according to the release. The products were also distributed in Canada’s British Columbia.”
Double WOW! You sure must be looking forward to that! I can’t wait for this second round of President Trump - it’s going to be a whirlwind of good!
Oh no, that’s awful. Those poor beautiful big cats.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas, pax. Here’s looking forward to January 20th!
Very nice! I have his first book, “Our Journey Together” on my coffee table. I took the cover protecter off, and the book is beautiful black with gold lettering. It’s perfect.
Sorry I disappeared …I fell asleep with phone in my lap. Pretty big sleep deficit.
Halfway successful day with projects. A couple tasks tomorrow early before rain I’d LIKE to get done but not earth shattering if postponed
The auto situation is still in limbo. Had to cancel Jeff’s two GI appts for today. Paracentesis and upper n lower GI scope.
The list grows of things we’ve missed for lack of transportation. Quick trip to Ohio for Jeff and I for Christmas the latest I also by now would have had both eye surgeries…
Still having fun cooking. Enjoyed reading about everyone’s great Christmas get togethers and meals. For Christmas jeff requested “No FANCY Meal”(his terminology). Just hamburgers so that’s what he had. Other than meat and potatoes that would be the extent of his eating choices for the normal holiday spread. I was quite happy with my egg salad.
Hope all are sleeping wrll
How nice!!
I bet that made your day!
See post 9672, that I posted to you!

I know!
That kitty is very clever!
It looks like a little female to me.
Her paws are so delicate.
I LOVE that video!
How wonderful you’ll be in DC for the Inauguration! Hope you’ll share any photos and report in.
I was hoping to attend but with no vehicle, my Nov n Dec cataract surgeries were cancelled and rescheduling is Jan 21 and Feb 25
Last inaug I attended we took train in from Maryland hotel. I have four cousins in DC area but all liberal -2 attorneys & 2 MDs - but staying with them for this would not work. I’d not be there other than sleep. And awkward as they are NOT DJT fans. I stayed with them when I came in for Walter Reed and other DC FReeper happenings
Yes I saw this post and was about to respond to it!!!
You have a brother nearby? Lucky you. Are you from that area originally? Any other relatives?
I love bookstores! Always enjoyed the big ones like B n N and the biggest one I ever visited was a non franchise - mom and pop if you will in Portland(the other one) Oregon. It was HUGE. Advertised largest used and new bookstore in world
https://www.powells.com/locations/powells-city-of-books/
In Ohio I’d get to a B n N on occasion but did all my purchasing and ordering from a small bookstore in Hudson Ohio - the community where i spent most of my time. The book shop as they are named puts on regular interesting events
The B n N in Shaker Hts is where the local Freepers Freeped Hillary when she was there for a book signing. She avoided us by entering and leaving the store via the back alley service entrance by delivery dock. Understand she was fuming

It’s always a good idea to remember where we were when the year started and where we are now.
At the beginning of 2024, President Trump was facing 91 felonies, he was facing 4 criminal cases. New York was trying to bankrupt him, Georgia and DC were trying to put him jail for 700 years.
In this year we witnessed the collapse of the Joe Biden illusion, we saw his dementia on full display and while many of us knew, what we saw at that debate shocked many.
We also saw two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life, and we all know what we felt that day when we saw what happened in Butler, PA.
We started the summer being inundated with propaganda where the media thought they could create a candidate out of thin air and make everyone believe she wasn’t totally astroturfed. It was a psyop meant to demoralize us all.
Slowly but surely though we watched Donald Trump ascend. We saw the merging of two icons, RFK and Trump. We saw MAGA join MAHA. We saw Tulsi Gabbard who was the former Vice Chair of the DNC come out and support Trump and switch parties.
We saw Donald Trump troll the left by working at McDonalds and pulling up in a garbage bag. We witnessed the addition of people like Elon Musk and dark maga and people like David Sachs and Bill Ackerman.
We witnessed a revolutionary political realignment happen right before our very eyes and it culminated with a decisive victory and a clear mandate for charge from the American people.
We experienced the lowest low and the highest high.
This country was on the brink of being lost but by the grace of God just like President Trump dodged that bullet to the head that Saturday in Butler, PA, America dodged a proverbial bullet.
On November 5th, this country was given a second chance and we better not waste it. We have a lot of work to do. But as 2024 comes to a close, I think it’s important to reflect on this epic victory and remember to be grateful and not take it for granted.

Trump Impeachment Lawyer DAVID SCHOEN blasts Op-Ed in @thehill
falsely claiming that House Democrats can legally refuse to certify the election of Donald Trump,
“The opinion piece by Davis and Schulte recommends a full assault on Democracy. Around 1864, Lincoln reportedly said in substance, “Elections belong to the people....” Davis and Schulte clearly disagree. All of the information they rely on to argue that Congress should bar President Trump from assuming the presidency to which he was elected in a landslide was fully taken into account by the electorate and was soundly rejected as disqualifying. They apparently believe in Democracy and the sanctity of the vote only when their side wins. They clearly reject the fundamental principle affirmed by the Supreme Court in 1979 that “It is beyond cavil that ‘voting is of the most fundamental significance under our constitutional structure.’”
They also appear to have abandoned their distinguished legal credentials and any acuity for legal reasoning in favor of partisan political nonsense. The errors in both the premises and the substance of their attempts to find supporting legal arguments could fill pages. Let me highlight just a few:
They minimize as “dicta” the majority opinion from the U.S. Supreme Court in Trump v. Anderson to the extent it reaffirms the 1869 decision from Justice Chase in Griffin’s Case which unequivocally held the disqualifying provision in Section 3 of the 14th Amendment is not self-executing and requires enforcing legislation by Congress on such fundamental issues as identifying to whom it applies, what constitutes “insurrection,” what any disqualifying process should be, what burden of proof applies, and more.
They rely on the second impeachment trial as a purported basis for Congress to find insurrection and disqualify President Trump. They could not be more wrong. First, the articles of impeachment did not charge insurrection. Indeed, even the partisan Special Counsel, Jack Smith, never alleged insurrection, notwithstanding the existence of a statute on the books so charging. He well knew, as the House knew, that President Trump never engaged in insurrection or any other conduct covered by Section 3. But the second impeachment trial cuts against the writers entirely. President Trump won! To say it supports disqualification because a majority of politicians voted for conviction, when the Constitution requires a 2/3 vote is the equivalent of saying a criminal defendant is guilty if a jury split 7-5 when the law requires unanimity for a conviction. President Trump was acquitted of any charged impeachable offense as a matter of law.
The Colorado decision provides absolutely no support for their thesis either. The position of the Colorado Supreme Court was overturned by a 9-0 vote. The proceedings there set no burden of proof, had no authority even to consider the issue, and suffered from multiple other due process and other constitutional infirmities.
Finally, reliance on the January 6 Committee is both laughable and outrageous. One would be hard-pressed to find a greater sham dressed up as a congressional committee. There was nothing “bipartisan” about it. Its purported agenda was to “investigate” the events of January 6; but its members made clear their conclusions before the committee began its work. The Chair filed a lawsuit alleging that President Trump was responsible for the events and that he (the Chair) was personally injured by them, raising an irretrievable conflict of interests. One after another committee member, partisan hacks of the worst order, regularly issued press statements during the course of the investigation allocating blame on political grounds, rather than evidentiary, and in Alice in Wonderland fashion, announced their conclusions before any investigation.
There is no lawful basis for Congress to refuse to certify the election results and President Trump’s right to the presidency “
