What a lovely breakfast to come back with.....exit has done a fine job in your absence, but he makes a lot of noise and leaves the kitchen in a shambles. Plus he eats most of the bacon before we get there. It’s like putting the foxes in charge of the hen house.
Now that’s a fine spread for a hotel, think I’ll stay another night

The figured out my daughter-in-law has heart failure and they’ve been trying medications but nothing so far has worked. The doctor called son at 4:30 this AM and told him they put her on life support and incubator. Still trying to get her heart to work and clear her lungs of fluids.
Her dad got there and she smiled and laughed a little with him, kissed my son and told him she loved him, before they both had to leave.
I wish I could fly down there just to help my son, but my health isn’t great, can’t do much for any length of time without pain, so I would be an added burden. Granddaughter is staying with him and taking care of the dogs, etc.

Thanks exit. You know, if someone already has a known illness something like this is a little easier to deal with. But she is a healthy 50 yr old, took care of her health and no bad habits, so it’s like a sudden nightmare.
She and the kids were my son’s whole life. Always having family and friends over for big dinners, went on camping trips often, played disc golf together, (when they weren’t doing home improvements). Son is trying to hold it together and be hopeful but cries saying he feels so helpless and his whole world is shattered.

Poor girl, heart failure in one so young.
I’m sure your son knows you’d help if you could. Just being available for him to talk is a big help.
