Fuming Kamala Harris supporters are calling for the director of the Arlington National Cemetery to be "fired" for allowing Donald Trump to attend a Monday memorial service for fallen soldiers.
Democratic media figures and activists expressed their fury at Arlington National Cemetery director Karen Durham-Aguilera, a longtime senior Army official, after Trump marked the third anniversary of the Kabul airport terrorist attack by attending a wreath-laying ceremony with the families of the fallen service members. The Gold Star families invited Trump to attend the service.
Thirteen American soldiers were killed and 18 wounded in the Abbey Gate suicide bombing during the Biden-Harris administration’s chaotic withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.
Steve Schmidt—a failed GOP campaign operative known for smearing his deceased war hero ex-boss, John McCain—accused Trump of "desecrat[ing] Arlington National Cemetery and America’s most hallowed ground."
Charles P. Pierce, an opinion writer for Esquire, said Trump "grotesquely used Arlington National Cemetery as a campaign prop."
"[H]ow dare you let that creep Trump do what he did yesterday. You must like our service men and women being called suckers and losers! You are really a low class person. You need to resign. Shame on you!" wrote one Harris supporter in a message to Durham-Aguilera on X.
"F—king disgusting! My brother is buried in that cemetery. U should be fired," wrote another X user.
Others flooded Durham-Aguilera with comments calling her a "disgrace" who should "RESIGN IMMEDIATELY"; arguing that "Heads should roll for whoever approved that"; and demanding to know, "Why was the draft-dodging rapist thug convicted felon traitor wannabe dictator laying a wreath today???"
A spokeswoman for the Arlington National Cemetery told the Washington Free Beacon that Trump "was invited by a Gold Star family to participate in a public wreath-laying ceremony and was afforded the same access to ANC ground and facilities as afforded to other unofficial visitors."
"Our focus was on supporting our Gold Star families as they came to honor and pay respect to their loved ones at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and their final resting place," said the spokeswoman.
There was an ‘incident’

What about General Robert E. Lee’s house? Is it still there?..............
TDS on full display.
Eat the big one Kathy in OC...
Her tagline should be “what about Trump?”
In this article Trump said there was an incident, NPR says there was an altercation, and Trump campaign says claims of an altercation are defamatory. The original article I was referring to used the word attack in the headline, but it was about Harris supporters verbal attacks. In any case this sounds like quite the event.
Apparently there was a small shoving match from an unknown person trying to block Trump’s aides from going into a certain area............
But not because of their traitorous commander-in-chief.
That’s what it sounds like. I guess it depends on the reader’s interpretation of physical alteration, attack and incident!
I can't imagine why the family didn't want him at their loved ones grave site.
Most often the actions of private citizens unknown to the general public are not newsworthy, or worth getting upset about.
So you just like to look at pictures and don’t like to read the context, Kathy? That figures.
Net zero responsibility.
If it was really about dishonoring the war dead, it wouldn’t matter who it was.
The outrage is just because it’s Trump, and people like you are looking for anything to defame Trump.
Jack Posobiec posted on X the 3 dates that Biden and Kamala were reminded about this event.
Joe Biden is a liar.
Also, why are these gold star families not known to the public?
Are they known to the public? What are their names?
LOL. You like to pretend something didn’t happen rather than defend it if you agree with it. Are you saying Trump did not give a thumbs up over the gravesite of a dead soldier and that some people were angry about it? Was the photo doctored?
If someone I went to school walked by the gravesite of a dead soldier and gave the thumbs up would news articles be published about it? If Kamala Harris did it would that be newsworthy?
Just like I said, there’s context you are purposely overlooking. You’re just another run of the mill Trump basher and not worth my time.
