The parents of Thomas Matthew Crooks have hired a high-powered legal firm as the investigation continues into their son’s July 13 attempt to assassinate former President Donald Trump.
The firm of Quinn Logue, which is based in Pittsburgh, will represent Matthew Crooks and his wife Mary, according to the Daily Mail.
The firm, founded by some of Pittsburgh’s top attorneys, says it specializes in “criminal defense and civil suits including wrongful death and personal injury.”
The Mail, citing a supposed anonymous family member, reported that as the FBI investigates the shooting, the agency remains uncertain exactly how much the gunman’s parents knew about his plans.

The fact the family is hiring a law firm to investigate this speaks volumes about the FBI, the SS, and likely the CIA.
The only question the FBI has for them is “Why did your son miss?”

I think that is likely. From the accounts I've read, it was the Dad's gun.
He didn’t miss...he hit the President...killed one....and seriously injured 2 more.
2. If they do, then anyone with half a brain would have umbrella insurance coverage to protect their assets … which means the insurance company, not the family, would be paying for the lawyers.
More importantly, who ultimately funds their defense? Are they being paid to shut it down and shut mom and dad up?
You raise a good point, however would typical umbrella coverage cover something like this? This wasn't an accidental discharge at home or on a hunt...

If I were them, I’d also hire a preemptive attorney.
In these days of predatory lawfare the innocent must be prepared to defend against attack.
(Doubly so if they aren’t innocent!)
