Minnesota Guard report said riot troops ready, not bunch of 'cooks'...
Tim Walz mocked Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, who, on May 27, 2020, as his city burned, issued an urgent call to the governor to send in the National Guard. Mr. Walz delayed action by more than 24 hours ... as buildings, including a police precinct, went down.
“I don’t think the mayor knew what he was asking for,” Mr. Walz later said. “We’re going to have massively trained troops? No. You are going to have 19-year-olds who are cooks in some cases. ..
Mr. Walz had to know his spin wasn’t true. He served for 24 years in the National Guard, retiring as a master sergeant, though he told the world that he left at the higher rank of command sergeant major. That’s like a retired Army colonel telling people he was a general.
Walz knew the Minneapolis Guard, with combat air and ground units .. was considered top-notch. He just did not want to send them against left-wing destructors. After all, his wife said in an interview that she opened the window to let in the intoxicating smell of rioting.
...
troops were ready to go on May 26 and the 27 if only the governor had heeded the Minneapolis mayor’s and the police chief’s request instead of waiting. He delayed until the evening of May 28, 2020 — after two days of rioting — sending 100 soldiers when the request was for at least 600 to start. He did not sign a written order until May 29.
...
May 31, more than 7,000 soldiers and airmen were on duty.
...
Think of the damage that could have been prevented had Mr. Walz activated the troops 24 hours early on May 27.

This issue is a non-starter and a distraction. The Dems can easily counter this with President Trump’s praise of Walz’s response in his conference call with the governors.
The campaign has two pillars: the economy and the border.
I picture Walz telling everyone to stand down, then he joins his wife, who has just opened the windows, to a quiet waltz while the city burns outside their windows.
As long as he can rule over the ashes, it’s all good...
Typical arrogant liberal.
They look down on common people.
100% wrong. You’re pretty new around here. Shouldn’t be too surprised you’d take this position.
I don’t think it is a non-starter.
However, the economy and border should be the centerpiece of Trump’s campaign.
Sh*tocrats can’t really reference the Trump praise because having Trump Walz would mean that they have to admit that Trump did something good.
This is a good secondary issue. Hairass and Walz need to be defined as incompetent, mean and out of touch
Yeah, how'd this creep get to be governor of Minnesota anyway?
Oh, wait . . . .
Maybe all that happened is that the people of Minnesota got what they voted for?
Eu d’ burning tires Walz??
Walz is a real piece of work. What an idiot.
Nero Walz fiddled
Oh,it’s worse than that. Not only did he allow it to burn...he and his wife enjoyed the smell of the burning tires.
Harris of California. Walz of Minnesota.
The choice is clear. If you want the entire nation to resemble California and Minnesota, vote the Democrat ticket.
If you want success and prosperity vote for Donald Trump and JD Vance.
I might be new but I’m not wrong:
“I know Gov. Walz is on the phone, and we spoke, and I fully agree with the way he handled it the last couple of days,” Trump told a group of governors on June 1, 2020, according to a recording of the call, in which he also called Walz an “excellent guy.”
“I was very happy with the last couple of days, Tim,” Trump continued. “You called up big numbers and the big numbers knocked them out so fast it was like bowling pins.”
Here’s a shocker: NO ONE will cast a ballot in November based on the VP pick. As I said, the issues that demand razor focus are the economy and the border.
Our modern day Nero.
Miami Rebel is absolutely right.
There's plenty of easily found video of Trump on the phone with Walz, praising what a great job he's doing while Minneapolis burned.
How can Trump criticize him now? "You said personally I was doing a great job!"
Why did Trump tell Walz he was doing a great job when clearly he wasn't is the real question.
Pretty much for the same reason that Hulk Hogan was a headliner at the RNC convention. As has been said of Trump, "he's a weak man's vision of a strong man."
Trump (and many of his most rabid fans) are smooth-brained types who are suckers for the image of what they perceive as "strength," that's all. But, hey, that's where the country is nowadays: two completely synthetic people competing for the Presidency.
Fortunately for both candidates, the entire country is content to totally memory-hole the events of 2020.
Walz is the great distraction to hiding Harris. The tactic is doing well 90 days out.
He’s a Soros methodologist.
